Yesterday I went in and had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder. Was supposed to take a little over an hour, took three hours. He said there was much more damage in there than he figured. I dunno how they didnt come up with that with all the xrays and MRI's. Hopefully this will have me all fixed up. I have to start PT today which seems pretty quick after having surgery yesterday.

OK the weird thing, and I bet some of you guys have had this. They put a nerve blocker in my shoulder and it killed my arm from the should down to my finger tips. I had my arm in a sling for several hours but took it out and just rested it on a pillow while I sat around. I could have jabbed a knife right in my arm and wouldnt have felt it. I sat down for lunch and used my left hand to lift my right arm up on the table because it kept slipping off my lap (so weird). I got up from the table and forgot to let my arm down and it just flopped down like a giant wet noodle. Zero feeling ... Thank goodness when I got up this morning it was back to normal feeling again. Shoulder hurts a bunch and will probably hurt more after PT this afternoon. They gave me Oxy for the pain but Id rather take extra strength Tylonal instead, did the same with my neck surgery.

I had seven nerve block injections to calm the nerves from my spine to my right arm . They injected through the front . Little unnerving seeing a 6 or 7 inch needle coming at you . This was after a rotator cuff surgery. Hope yours goes better I had problems for years with reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Its subsided about 5 years later to only an occasional flare up . The injury (on the job ) ended my PO career .

Got the ceiling done in the shed. Rather than corrugated tin, we decided to use cypress and tin strips. I laid on my back and took a couple of shots. What do you think of this one-of-a-kind ceiling.?

The Envoy is 20 years old it still drives nice I’m just tired of patching the frame attachments . When I decide to junk it I’ll take out the seats and the 4.2 it has 128k miles on it my dodge is only rusty around the rear wheel wells it’s 17 years old . Old cars didn’t last the 5-7 years .

My son emptied about 25 sacks of mulch into the planters in front of the house. I gimped around. picking up the empty bags and swept up after. At least it's getting done. We had two transformers replaced on our block. That's a big deal, as the electrical is underground here, and the transformers are buried in select back yards. So, crane work. I now know the locations of three of them (NIMBY). Must be at least one more? Power was off for 5 hours. Those guys are quick and efficient.

right after i bought a "new" truck last january ('96 rcsb) we ended up with another truck today.
wife's dad is 87 and we got the news today, 6 weeks to 6 months left, so he signed his truck over to my wife, his daughter, no charge.
not sure if it's a 2014 or 2015, but it's in real nice shape, old man driven truck.
has 76 000 kms (approx 40 000 miles) V6 auto 4x4 double cab
were going to leave it at his place till he moves on or until i can sell my camper. my driveway is looking like a frikkin used car lot (4 trucks, 1 suv, 1 firebird)

Sorry to hear about your Father-in-law.
If they use salt on the roads up there, check the frame over carefully. MAJOR issue with the frames rusting out down here in the salt states. Outside can look like new and the frames are swiss cheese.
The problem is so common, there are companies making repair kits for them.

I think you'll find it's a real truck, just much less than one built to do more. I've been running a 4-banger Sonoma and it serves me well in my work. Why drive more than required 90% of the time? And you have the truck you need for anything beyond the smaller truck's capability

Thanks for the link. My son has an '08 X-Runner that Toyota wouldn't replace the frame under. It's a damn nice truck he has done some nice enhancements to, performance-wise

ya, i've seen and heard of toyota frames turning to cheese.
at 87 though he hardly drove it, let alone in the winter. they do brine our roads occasionally, but after that it's mostly just sand they use

bit of a war going on between my wife and her 3 other sisters right now. last month he was in the hospital for 3 weeks, and he hates it, does not want to go back. (nurse gave me hay for sneaking him in some beef jerky a few times)
now that we got the word, wifes other sisters say he should be at the hospital or pallative care, which he does not want. and as far as me and wife are concerned, it's his choice, and to tell you the truth, wife and i belive he should have the right to die with dignity where he wants to. wife has taken a few weeks off work and goes over there everyday to help him

I jest about it . It’ll end up being my run around vehicle just like the Envoy and use the other trucks ( mostly my Dodge) for bigger stuff

My wife works with the local Hospice. With her background she helps people with the mental side of end of life care .

I worked at a frame shop that kept 1 man busy 45 hrs week year round, just rebuilding rusted out frames. Yes, the other brands have the problem too, but Toyota has the highest percentage. And Dieseldawg, I hope, for your sake, the frame is clean, but I strongly recommend you take it to a reputable repair shop and have them put it on a hoist to inspect the frame from the inside out. Bending down and looking at the outside of the frame will not show any signs of the problem starting, as the rust comes from the inside and by the time you see a bubble or rust stain on the outside the damage is far worse than it looks. Don't mean to be a jerk, but I've seen dozens of these frames that the owners thought were fine until our guy started picking at it and found holes thru rails and cab and spring mounts almost ready to fall off. Yes, these are extreme cases, but unless you have it inspected you'll never know if there is a problem developing that you can have preventive measures performed to stop the advance.

Boxed frames are a stupid unnecessary mistake. Land Rovers had the problem in the '50s and '60s. Nothing wrong with C-channel frames. They outlive boxed. Big rigs have C-channel frames. They're pretty strong I think

well once we have it at our house, like any vehicle we get, i'll go over it with a fine comb.
just don't want to do it at his house and seem like a vulture.
today he signed a do not resusitate order so i'll wait, not in a hurry, rather have him than the truck

well i would say he's taking it about as good as anyone who knows their time is up. told me he has no regrets and enjoyed his life and 4 daughters. my wife though, that's another story. as the youngest she was his baby and she's been shedding a lot of tears lately

This might not help your wife but hopefully it can in time. My dad dies of diabetes and was given a prognosis of 6 months, he went 9. I went to see him with my younger son as much as we could, 150 miles from here. Through that experience I realized these two simple facts. When a person knows they are going to die it's hard for them and easier on their loved ones. When a person dies suddenly it's good for them and hard on everyone else. We are fortunate to know we have some time to show our dying loved one how much we love them, appreciate the live they had with that person, and say how they will be missed. Make the most of this time and her regrets will be much less
