Re: New 64 Stepper Project
So, when are you going to wash the truck and give us some full beauty shots? These teasers are killing me

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Good point, but I meant with all the pinstriping on it too. Pinstriping or no pinstriping, your truck has turned out great!

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
The pinstriping really finishes pulling it all together. A long trip indeed, I really enjoy seeing them completed. Lotta hours into this one. Outstanding, Chief!

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Pinstriping is just enough on this truck. I like the one to separate the white and the red. Nice touch!

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Drove it into Waco to get a tank of gas, about 15 miles each way. Up and down hills back-roads, stop lights etc. from 25 to 65 MPH.
Came home and used a laser temp meter and found these temps on the engine. I dont know if thats good or bad? Top of radiator - 120 degrees Top of Thermostat Housing - 191 Under the Thermo housing - 171 Head between first 2 exhaust ports driver side - 192 Front of head - 191 Block - 191 Temp Gauge reading (Lectric Limited sender for year model gauges): So what do you think?

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
I would expect around/within 15° of the thermostat opening point.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
My 63 gauge runs about that same degree on the sweep with my 180 thermostat and letric limited sender unless I'm running in 95+ weather when I've been going for a few hour At that point it will sit about in the middle. When I had a 195 thermostat in it, the gauge was almost pegged constantly

Question, is that still an amp gauge, or has it been mod to a volt meter? With what I saw in your engine compartment, I would be using a 100 amp alternator at minimum, if that is an amp gauge, it won’t handle it well…. |
