Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Here's my '83 K10 shortbox 4x4 I picked up a couple of weeks ago. It's got a 350/700R4, color matched ralleys, warn lock outs, wrapped in 31.5 BFG's with a slight lift. I got it for a hunting rig, but been driving it everyday since I bought it. It rides like a dang truck, but hey, it's not my accord either! The Honda is sitting in the garage while I'm riding high in my K10 during these North Dakota winters! It's yellow, has some rust but the body is pretty straight for a 30 year old truck. It's not perfect I don't care, it's a tank and it's unique where I live!

In the last week I did the following:

New valve cover rubber gaskets, new transmission filter kit, new tranny fluid, new plugs, new vacuum advance, tightened distributor cap (it was hand loose), adjusted carb, fixed timing, had shop install new 2 1/2 dual exhaust with magnaflow glasspacks and 4" stainless steal tips, new manifold gaskets and donuts, took off running boards and clear old school square style bug shield....

In the near future I plan on...

Purchasing a bull bar with KC lights, taking off Leer Mach topper (I'm going to try and sell it) and installing triple chrome roll bars with KC lights, chrome step up bars, chrome grab bars, tinting windows, chrome fender flares, chrome rocker panels, mud flaps, smoked head light covers, smoked vent window shades, smoked bug shield, any one have these parts for sale???

Should I replaced the factory painted rallys for some other rims? I would need some 15" to fit my new BFG KO's.

Thanks for looking.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Here's mine. It's a 72 Stepside 4 x 4 that I bought new in 1972. It has a 4" lift. I restored it some time back and it has a new crate engine and the transmission and transfer case have been rebuilt.

Will never sell! I will be buried in my truck!

I can't lie 60-66 are my all time favorite trucks. I use to have a 64 chevy fleetside shorty. That was the truck that started my sickness for 1972 and older chev/gmc pickups! I even got ink of the 64 on my shoulder.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Ok, here's my new to me '69. Currently its getting front and rear axles from a '72 which will give it power disc brakes and 3.08 gears (I think). Getting the TH350 and NP205 from the '72, the 3 on the column is getting retired. Getting a tilt steering column from the '72. Already had a 350ci in it. Gonna wait about a year then next years project will be a motor rebuild or crate. Probably gonna put the 33 x 12.5 x 15's from '72 on it as well.

FetchMeAPepsi-

That is one beautiful truck you have there! I would be interested in knowing the lift you have on it also. And what size tires are those?

What, where is the nice rubber fender flares, they are probably rare, no just kidding, the paint is sooo nice compared to before, glad the blck stripe is gone. Is it a factory color, had a 3/4 ton 71 orange too not as pretty though.

Hey 68Maniac what lift and tire size on the Beast, I know it looks a bit higher in front due to no motor but it sits so nice, going to be bad a$$.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Thanks guys for the replys! Lift consist of Sky's 4 1/2" perch drop, 73-87 8" soft ride springs Rear has 8" soft rides with a shackle flip. It has a 8.1l vortec/4l80e and np 205 in the truck as you see in the pic's. Springs sagged a little some when I installed the 8.1. I work in the oilfield and stay gone from home quite a bit so it has been a very slowwww build.
