Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Hey Guy's no real updates, but I did get the old girl out of hibernation this morning!

Pic #1. After we got it outside I couldn't help but snap some shots..
I set the Cadi Dagmar in place for a quick look. (and remember NO airbags!)
Pic #2. The Interior.

Pic#3. The 55 bumper I modified.

The reason I brought her out ,is I'm moving it to my shop at my house to give us a bit more room in the basement. Have been Super busy rebuilding the back section of a 78 FJ for a customer and should be getting it out by next week.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Thank's Guy's..

I hope to Doug, but I have my hands full in the shop right now with several projects. I'm taking it to my shop and might be able to get a few small things done, probably nothing major do to lack of (2nd set of equipment) at my shop and No air compressor.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

mark, feel your pain. multiple work areas actually sux for that reason. I have to have multiple welders compressors etc. Still need extra hammer and dollies and a million other things. hard to keep organized. I still only work out of a portable toolbox, I'm prolly the only guy on here that doesn't have a real toolbox! yet

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

It's been awhile since I have posted anything new on the progress of the truck. I have been busy with other projects, anyways here is an update.

Pic #1. These are the Dagmars from a 55-56 Cadi. that will be my new front bumper. This shot is of it untouched.

Pic #2. Drivers side was marked out to be cut. This will allow it to sit closer to the fender.

Pic #3. In this shot after setting it in place it would then need to be trimmed to fit the grill.

Pic #4. This was the mockup of how the fit was coming along.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

99 what filler piece are you referring to?
The top pic is of the stock Dagmar. It came from factory this way and all the trim etc. had to be removed to allow it to fit the shape of the fender.
Hope that helped.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Rusty76 and lv2tri2
Thank you guy's.
It is in the mock up stage right now will need to get it back over to Dad's so I can start the fab work on making actual mounts.
(It's at my shop and do not have all the needed equipment to do the work and all my tools, equipment are at Dad's.)

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Pic #1. Another view, seeing if I like how it was fitting.

Pic #2. Both sides trimmed. The white piece in the middle represents the "blade" or center bar (Forgot at the shop) The Dagmars are about 3 1/2" off the ground and I think I will need to raise them an inch for a touch more clearance.

Pic #3. Different angle.

The next step would be making all the needed mounts etc. then I can figure out what all I will come up with for the center bar. (I have a few ideas)

Cool mod, is that a mock up piece in the middle lower? It will tie the ends together visually I think.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

I have some Ideas in store for the center Bar.
Once I get the Bumper pieces actually mounted I will start figuring out the details on it.
I'm thinking possibly a stock grill bar flipped upside down and put on the bottom of the last grill bar, then taking the "blade" center bar and having that just below the upside down bar (hope you can visualize that)
So that way it will not have to much of a gap in the center area between the bar and the ground.

Idea #2. Take the Blade center bar and move it up a bit to be even with the last grill bar, Then make my own Blade center bar to go just below the first one and have it a bit forward of the top one (again if you can visualize this)
They would have a stacked look..
