Re: My 52 GMC Build

Sounds good! Is that bracket under the exhaust part of your scraper, or is it the running board bracket?

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Thanks Chance
Last night got some more done. Got the 7 pin trailer plug wired and installed. Also got my reverse lights wired and installed. Then the amount of beer that I was drinking told me I should stop before I F something up. But I did hot wire the reverse lights to see them on. They are very white but have a yellow halo. The last pick shows my water proof electrical box for the wiring at the back.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Thanks Coach

I ran some wire and installed my box tube end lights. They are LED dual element (run, brake) really bright D.O.T. approved. I will have them wired in the same as my tail lights.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

My son and I have been following your build for a while. We both think you are doing an amazing job!

Do you have a part number and or manufacturer on the lights you put in the end of the bed rail? I've seen them before, but was worried that they would be too dim. And possibly the ones for the the reverse lights also.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!!

Re: My 52 GMC Build

No Problem guys.
On the weekend I took the fam out for a walk in the local wrecking yard. My GF likes going and my 2 boys had a blast. I think they went in every car there. Got a wiper motor from the tailgate of a '97 blazer and a vent from a mazda 3. I am using the vent for my heater.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

I used a similar motor, only out of a ford. 48panel made me an adjustable linkage for it. Its a bit of fiddling with but if you got the time can be better than dropping 250 for a kit.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well tonight I got all the wires in the back hooked up. This should keep the gremlins out. In doing some research, I found an easy way to get the turn and brake lights hooked up was to use a brake light converter.

Ya a 50 pin does not sound fun. They are strain relief fittings they have rubber ring inside that you tighten so they don't pull out and they make a seal.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

you keeping track of hours!!! reminding me of my last build, just so much wiring and thinking ahead. People only see the outside, maybe inside, but never understand all the work it takes to get a well built truck going.
