Re: Vintage picture thread
This thread is over six years old and the op hasn't been here in over four years, but the thread is still alive and well.
It was pretty much derailed way back there and got away from the original intent of 67 72 trucks. I can't imagine how it didn't get moved to general discussion. I went through the whole thread, and it's sad that where pictures were, only gray PB squares remain. I will have to get my scanner out and go through my archives. Very interesting thread.

Re: Vintage picture thread
Dad's '68 and his CJ-7 then and now. Sure is weird being able to drive either one.
Jeep was sold in '80 Old blue in '86. And both of them came back home this year.

Re: Vintage picture thread
This shot is from 1989.
A friend of mine had this truck for years and loaded it with options. He sold it to my mailman, who drove it for a few years. I gave $1,800 for it, stripped the options, slapped the lacquer paint on it (It was super straight and rust free) and sold it for $3,500. I couldn't get rid of the truck fast enough, cause I didn't like it. Now I feel like an idiot. Yeah, I know, I look like one too. $1,800 and tow hooks are advertised now for $750. Somebody flip the pic for me. No matter what I tried, the picture flipped when I downloaded it here.

Steve and I worked at the GM Milford Proving Ground together. Many of us heard Steve say, on more than one occasion, "...after I'm gone I want you to run my ashes through a Chevy big block, running at 4000 rpm. I want to see what the inside looks like." He even reiterated with one of his buddies: "you're gonna take care of that, right?" So - we did. At the end of the service they fired up his '72 Blazer, which has a 396 in it, and ran it up to 4000 rpm, while pouring some of his ashes down the carb throat. I cried a little. He was a hot rodder to the very end. K

Pics from my honeys family slides. One has been posted way back, but found some that went with it. I thought the picture was older and then I found the ones with the Blazer.

Is the pick up pulling the horse trailer a 2wd? it sure looks that way. Im always impressed when I see what used to get done in 2wd - both for car and trucks.

Re: Vintage picture thread
Here's a picture of mine from 1980 or 81. You'll have to ignore the skinny teenager in front of the truck. The truck looks better after 35 years than he does.
