Thanks! I'll admit, though, I was in a bit of shock and quite apprehensive at first to start taking it back apart, but I love it even more now!

Well, here is "Slick", my 68 stepside.

Pretty much as purchased in 2000.

2006 just before tear down for new paint.

2007 after new paint.

2015 a few years after the LS swap and a bit lower.

Current situation with a full front and rear TCI Engineering suspension with RideTech coilovers, 18x9.5 USMags, and the LS1 with AFR heads making over 520hp.

Beautiful truck...

Great trucks. I love seeing where things were at in '02 with the trucks. I have the '72 K2500 I bought in '01. I think of it as one I've done very little with, till I get to thinking about it and although not restored, it runs and drives great fro what I have done

No brakes or drive shaft; thus the reason for the wooden emergency brake!

Hey Tim. You working on the shorty again? The last pic I saw the cab was out on the ground. You could have the engine/tranny in in an hour.

Trying to but my fenders are hours from here to be prepped for paint, nothing's happened, and now are hard for him to get to where they are stashed. I only did that to speed things up a few years ago! Nothing I couldn't have done...and now plan to! Gotta have the front clip ready for soon as I drop the engine in. That's been the big hang-up. He also has the '67 doors I decided to use, so held up on getting glass in/sealed up cab to do anything with that. I did get a Soft Ray windshield last summer. But one door on there now is just a shell. Guess I need to go help this guy move a ton of stuff to get my stuff back.

Re: everybody post a pic of your truck.

Be a good idea to get him on it after this long. He might change his mind or health issues could stop him. Former member Chevloray ran into this with his 69. After paying several thousand up front the young man came down with cancer, spent the money and no work was done. Don had to pick up the pieces and never got the truck built. Don passed away last year.
Don't let this happen to you Tim.

Re: everybody post a pic of your truck.

I signed up on this site in 2008 and never saw this thread. I'll post a few. Old Rocinante and I have many stories together. I bought her as a winter beater in 1997 but it was too reliable to part with so I kept it. I tried to have it restored in 2000 but the shop I took it to took 2 years to make it worse so I took it back and did what I could with it. The frame broke in '08 so I got a new one off a '69 and now it has drum brakes all around. It originally had a 292, I put in a small block and ran it until this year but I always had trouble pulling heavy trailers on long trips, like when the army moves me so this year I put the old 292 back in it with some perks. I had it painted in 2011 but it was rushed and now it is coming off badly. Someday I'll get the restoration done I've been trying for years to do. I think it deserves it after the 300,000 miles it's given me so far.

I love the history. These are just good ole trucks. And they will keep on given in spite of all. My '72 above had been painted when I bought it, and it wasn't fresh. Now it gets splits in it that peel down to primer after all these years. It's just on the front end, so I think the parts were replaced with new GM parts and not properly prepped

Re: everybody post a pic of your truck.

This is my 1970 GMC Project truck. It belonged to my grandpa who had bought it as a project but he decided that he didn't have the time and money for it. I remember him buying it when I was about 10 years old so when he said he was selling it, I sold my Camaro so I could buy it off him. I know the cap needs to be gone but it is acting as parts storage for the time being.
