Rust never sleeps...but on the bright side there are always going to be replacement panels! :-)

Thanks! I hope to be on the road with it in 12 days!

Are you interested still in my red & grey long box? I might sell it this month.

I would be interested but I just don't have the funds right now. Thanks for the offer though!

I just got a mirror and the temp sensor at the wrecker off a 2004 Avalanche.

Then, I hooked the green wire and brown wire off the mirror to the sensor (extended the wires to fit the truck).

I grounded the black wire off the mirror to the cab roof.

I put power to one of the pink wires.

The rest of the wires I tucked away b/c they are for auto mirror dimming, reverse gear dim cancelation etc etc

Easy as that! :-)

Re: "The Ayatollah of Rusty Hole'a 1987 SWB 6.0 4L80E

Nice package showed up at the door today.

I'm getting rid of the PSI LS harness and putting in a Speed & Performance harness that Mark there had done up for me on a rush basis.

I'm sick & tired of all the problems with PSI harness and it's going in the trash.

Needless to say, I'm not fooling around anymore and I'm going with the best!!

Love how it was packaged and how everything is labelled --- some people (POS, oops I mean PSI) could learn a thing or two from how 'real' customer service is delivered with pride: notice how the person who built and the other person who inspected the Speed & Performance harness signed their names on the manual!

I should have it in by Sunday night. Will update more over the weekend if I can.

Just a quick pic of the S&P harness going in.

I can't say enough how much better this harness is over the last one from PSI.

Very well made!!

Thanks guys!! Encouraging words are always welcome in my garage!!

Driver's door done, chromies on the floor in.

Fixed the column wobble (forgot to put in the spring seat).

Finished doing the roll on bedliner.

It's better than it was unfinished, but it isn't a professional Rhino Lining by any means. But will probably get a box cover of some sort for it one day.

Gordon, can you get me a couple of pics of your fuel filler setup? I have a later tank and an early filler neck; it is almost impossible to fill up.

Re: "The Ayatollah of Rusty Hole'a 1987 SWB 6.0 4L80E

Took the day off today to get a bunch of stuff done on the truck in order to leave tomorrow morning for Street Wheelers.

Got the A/C converted to R134 from R12....system was fine, held pressure and now blows cold like my first girlfriend!

Got the wheel alignment done too and she's tracking straight as an arrow.

Now practicing how to wet sand and polish with a rotary...will post more pics later if I have a minute.

This a spare fender I had...before & after pics!

There are some better pics a couple pages back I think.

I tried to make the sharp corners with regular rubber fuel hose, but it got kinked too bad. The muffler shop bent up some tubing for me to make the compound curve to reach the tank, with just rubber connectors on either side of that to reach the fill and the tank.

I went back and looked, but didn't really see any. If you get a chance after your trip, if you could snap a few of the tubes you had bent, I would appreciate it.

The truck is coming out sweet. Good job!

One piece of advice always buff with the rotation going off the edge of the panel,, if you hit it with the rotation going onto a edge it will burn the clear or worse, it will grab and screw something up. I hope taht makes sense. Also go easy on the edges, itry to stay off of them if possible.

Okay, no prob. The black drips are the bedliner that came through the holes.

Here are driver's and passenger sides:

Thanks!! I totally understand what you mean.

Since I'm a chicken, I'm going to mask off all the edges I will be near

Yes, I just filled the driver's side tank this afternoon. No splash back, no spray up or anything. I am very careful not to let the nozzle rest against any one side though as I'm filling up as the rubber connectors on my hose might come loose --- I haven't done it enough yet to be sure either way.

Just note that I kept the 'vent' tube on the neck and I made sure the nozzle of the gas pump hose was below that openning.
