Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

rattle can for now to see if i like it.... and i like it! just need to sand a couple spots down and re shoot it then i can put everything back in.

i also redid the fuel line. the old one came out real far and wnet outside of all the AC brackets and was in the way of my AC compressor belt. so heres a shot of the new line it toucks behind all the brackets and hugs the block

Looks good, what color and brand of paint did you use? Do you think it will match up to mine well? For touch up of course...

~it might match up top yours. it is rustoleum spray paint and on the can it says "GLOSS CHERRY". did the red on your dah fade really bad? or is it still pretty red? if its still pretty red then i should match but if its faded really bad to more of an orange then it probably wont blend in very well.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Jeremy. My transmission at 10 mph wants to shift into 2 but just revs up the Rpms on the engine and doesn't shift until 20 mph. At 20 mph it just goes into 3rd gear. So I have no 2 gear on my transmission. That an it's leaking lol. The new transmission doesn't leak and it works properly so i will put my new modulator canister on it and fill it with new fluid then install it. Coolest thing is that the new tranny was made January 24, 1972! So now I can get rid of the square body part on my truck haha

Haha no my dash is in the original paint. I was saying do you think the spray paint will match my original dash paint, and you saw it at the Rene's house. The first pic is with the original wheel and the second is with the aftermarket wheel. I ended up going with the og wheel, I just love the patina on it.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Out of curiosity did you consider doing the 700R4 conversion instead so you would have Overdrive?

Ok well its nothing that cant be overcome, you dont have to settle for the TH-350, keep in mind you need to be happy with this its your truck and you have to drive it.
What driveline problem are you refering to?

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Well the new transmission has alot more pep and the speedometer works with this one lol.

That's being said...... This transmission isn't shifting into 2 gear or 3.... It just revs... So I'm going to try a different vacuum source. If that fails then I'm going to try adding a little more fluid. ( I'm probably not full but not really low I only put a gallon of fluid in)
If that doesn't work then I will take a look at the govenor. If that looks clean an not messed up no dirt then I'm going to try the new filter an gasket and modulator canister And if that doesn't work then I'm screwed

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

The torque converter I think hlolds 5 quarts and the tranny holds 7. Sounds like you may just need some more fluid.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Well it shifts!! It works! This transmission was taken out of a 72 along with the engine from my brother because he blew the engine up. It sat on the floor from 2003 or 2004 and now like 8 years later it's working perfect. Just goes to show that you can't kill a Chevy!
