Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Spartan 100-------Don't remember hearing of that model gas job. I have an MH 90 diesel. Seems like the model designations are all over the map .

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Yeah I've only seen a couple others on the net and both were old fire trucks. I haven't found much on the Spartan designation either, other than it is a heavy duty truck!

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
I had at one time (and wish I hadn't gotten rid of it) a 59 Chevy Spartan 10400. Had a factory 348/5 speed/ 2 speed rear combo.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Very low production model, not many around. I believe 1958 was the first year for Budd 10 hole (standard pattern) wheels on Chevy's.

Love those early Pete's.
Would the one on the right be considered a "Needle Nose"?

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Today they drive the cars down ramps off the ships, but as late as the '70's I remember them being loaded off by a crane, 1 by 1 on a platform. They told me that one day they dropped one.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
I don't know how old, "old" is Tim, but here is one I'm pretty proud of. This ones only 16 years old. The wheels need to be polished, but nobody has the time.
You know, I have a good camera, but it's never where I need to take pictures.
