Re: Any other projects in your garage?

My buddy just bought this 47 out of our local Auto Trader. It might be going into my garage as he has too many projects already

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

I've got a slew of them. Just seperated my barn so I can store the finished ones seperate from the shop.

This Firebird was a rotisserie restoration I did with my son a couple of years back. 4 wheel discs, Tremec 5 speed - Crate 350. I long haul, but it came out well and we both learned a lot.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

I've had this since I was 19.
'69 Camaro. I've got 90% of the pieces.

'67 drove this one a bit but it turned into a project then put on hold.

Runs but had to park it for the winter. Clean but needs restored.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

This one is currently under the knife... The body shop that painted it green before didn't do the best job, so back in it went. This pic is from 2009.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

The '65 C10 is the main project right now, but since racing season is about to start, I've been doing a little work on my XR7 as time allows.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

DON'T SHOOT!! It's a customers, not one that I own!! We're doing a full restoration on it, so it's paying the bills even if it is a F*rd.

He drove it in, and this is what we ended up with a few days later.

Another one we are working on is a '70 El Camino 396 SS for a full underhood restoration. It was restored in the mid 80's and only driven 300 miles since.

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

I'm now debating whether to jump into a project with my dad. He's an O.G. Burbank gearhead/hot rodder who's tastes "matured" to sports cars back in the fifties. As kids, mom was driving me and my two bros to the beach (yes, all four of us) crammed into a little '54 Jag XK 120 open two seater. That was fun. Times sure change. Ya can't do that now
He still owns that car and presently is restoring a '52 coupe.
Awhile back I took a metal shaping class for fun and made a piece for the nose of the coupe. I've always been intrigued by this kind of metal work and found it easy. Well ok, not easy, but I enjoyed the heck out of it. His regular body man recently flaked out on him, so I'm thinking of stepping in. It's a lot of work and NOTHING like a GM truck, but hey, he's my dad! (84 years young). What ya think, should I?
P.S. - I just noticed this post is # 666 on this thread. ...is this an omen?

Arrow Re: Any other projects in your garage?

I finished the 'frame-on' resto of my 1973 Montego MX. I posted on this thread before

painted 2012 Toyota/Lexus Sunset Bronze Pearl
Removed doors, deck, hood for paint. Stripped and bodyworked all panels.
New top, stripped the clear off all mouldings and had them polished.
Wheels and tires came with the car when I bought it. Lot's of NOS parts.

Engine compartment is still bone stock (400 motor)

Not a car you see everyday....had to get one. My first car when I was 16 was a 72 Montego MX...lol

Right after I painted it. The hood, deck, fillers, mirrors, fender extensions and other parts were in my other spray booth.

$500+ orig polished moldings
