Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
Ok....I'm back......here's what I hope the Ring Brothers would like to see on a c10......These are 1st Gen Camaro handles....full billet...a very nice piece.....Were a pain to do on this truck....Yes I cut up 2 brand new 69 panels to get contours right....Since the geometry is very extreme from button to bear claw release....I chose to electrically open the doors...Start with battery to the NOS corvette alarm switches...then up to the limit switch...push button...battery flows to door popper...pulls bearclaw...
Turn door switch with key.....no power to limit sw...door is effectively locked....Don't worry.... will have a door handle inside release(mechanical) when inside car, plus a cutoff to outside key switch battery in console....sounds technical but really simple and effective and no strain on handle or paint while pushing button........more later........jim

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
I have read your entire post but could not remember exactly what tires you have on the back? You got the 12 inch wide Schotts correct? Are those 315s on the back? I appreciate your input on the one piece windows btw.

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
Mike I guess I'm just following you through threads, But once again I have to agree. I love those handles. I've been looking at possibly doing something simular. I am definantly seeing awesomeness unfold befor my eyes here.

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
Notice under each hoop is a plate welded to tubing which is goin to be bolted to the 1" by 2'' bed rails....rails are notched and bolted at the bedsides flush.....the 1 by 2 is tapped for bolts...for clean bolt up and allows bed to be shimmed for precise body alignment...I'm not finished with some detail adds for the hoops.(hopefully tomorrow).....the accuair bracket will be installed between the 2 front hoops above the shaft.....notice the rear hoops are welded "off center" to rear bedrail.....that's to mount the battery trays on the outside of each one....and to clear rear of tire....notice i "stepped " the plates to make clean weld on the rearend side of hoop...Brought bed to within 1" of cab....Will be way more progress tomorrow......jim
