Re: 49 ls1
Got some updates on the 49... Finished up the wiring, installed a custom auto sound stereo, did a bunch of little stuff to get it roadworthy, and drove it to it's first car show 2 weeks ago.

Re: 49 ls1
I also added all green led dash lights and finished the end caps on the dash. Next week it goes to Ron's Auto Trim for door panels, carpet, and kick panels. Door panels are being finished in '55 Bel Air chrome, pattern, and arm rests.

Here's the link to my remote start video. Pretty cool having a '49 with remote start! Really surprised some people at the car show!

Re: 49 ls1
Cheapie off of ebay. I think it was $50. Has an alarm with prox. Sensor, and I programmed it to kill power to the door poppers when the alarm is armed. It also pops the doors via remote.

Re: 49 ls1
Thanks guys. That was the prototype. I'm going to try to make a unique cover for each LS swap I do, no two exactly the same.

Re: 49 ls1
What are the plans for the coil covers, or are you going to cover them?

Re: 49 ls1
I was going to cover them, but now I think it would be too much. I kind of like seeing the coil packs.

Re: 49 ls1
Mine runs great with the MAF right in front. If your MAF is not screened, having it within 6" of a bend can cause un-reliable readings due to the turbulence created by the bend.

Re: 49 ls1
So you are saying that a stock screened MAF will work fine in this location?

Re: 49 ls1
Yes. It's the turbulance from corners too close to the sensor that mess with it.
