Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
Spotted on the Yakima Wa craigslist a minute ago What to me looks like a 57 big truck front end https://yakima.craigslist.org/pts/d/...286415464.html

I would agree by the size of the wheel opening, small space behind opening compared to a half ton.

https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/...287664375.html The seller really has no idea what he has. "5 window" and "w/ a V6 stock numbers matching motor and trans" Only $85k |

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
85 K for a truck maybe worth 18 or 20. The off the wall paint job would be a 10 K deduct in my book.
This one showed up the local FB Market place today about 10 miles from me. What looks like a real nice cab with a so so nose. Solid but needing metal work. Comes with A complete S-10 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...lace_top_picks If I had some spare cash laying around I'd try to buy it and stick the cab and nose on my old frame.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
i think the orange county one is way out of line. Never saw a stock v6 in an ad espesially with a kick starter. looks like the seller bought it to flip with out knowing what they have. But im sure they will find a buyer some day.

It is not V-6, it is an inline 6, so could be the original engine...thinking the ad writer had no real clue what the difference is and was trying to really upsell it.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
On that one I am going with the concept that all too many people refer to any six as a V6 just as a lot of people think that once a small block Chevy V8 gets put in a hot rod or old truck it automatically becomes a "Corvette engine"
In the 60's the local Chevy dealer that belonged to one of my Classmate's family sold about 3 Corvettes a year while they sold about six pairs of Corvette finned valve covers a month. They always had at least three sets of the valve covers on the shelf both staggered and straight across bolt patterns plus at least 3 098 cams on the shelf. They sold dozens of those cams. Valve covers or the cams ran just a bit over 30.00 Pretty big dollars in a high school kid's budget in 1964.

Earl Scheib, I haven't heard that in a long time. "I'll paint any car for $19.95 or was it $19.99.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
That gray truck just wants to make a guy ask the seller why he thinks it is worth 80K. I'm sure you will get some answer about how rare it is and that it is "all original"
This one was about 5 miles from me and for sale for a long time and he may still have it out in the back of his place. All I wanted was the roof and running boards and after stopping to look at it the running boards were damaged and rusted out and there was no floor left, Both fenders and the hood were damaged beyond repair and the doors were rusted out. The roof wasn't too bad and I thought 200 was a bit high but I'd go 200. The man said it was "all original" and he wanted 2500 for it. Said he had an engine for it and threw a fit when I said no I didn't want it.

He had an almost snarling sounding voice and would say, "I'll paint any car, any color for only $29.95" - price was my youth in early/mid 1960's while watching wresting with my dad. Dick Lane, "Whoa Nellie!" direct from the Olympic Auditorium

Yes, Dan I remember now $29.95. I remember his commercials in SoCal in the 70's. Back when Cal Worthington was saying he would eat a bug to sell you a car. I think someone called him on that one and he did.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
When I was in my teens and living on Bainbridge Island Wa one of the older guys (a sr) Took his 47 or 48 Chevy coupe to Seattle and had Earl Scheib paint it lime fire green and then took it to Sure Fit for a set of custom seat covers (they were noted for years for the clear plastic seat covers people put on their new cars) A few days later when he was showing it off at school someone pointed out that they had completely missed painting one of the door posts. He had to take it back and have them repaint it.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
i remember my dad had a Shell station in Oakland and he had 2 pickups painted by Scheib's - one was a mid 50's GMC painted yellow and one was a mid 60' Ford painted red. They were both used as my high school drivers.

The 1234 just means he had to post a price to post it. I'm thinking he wants around 5 K for it. Still a pretty nice unit if you want to build a pro street TF.

That is a nice one, makes you wonder if they slipped the cab and nose onto a motorhome chassis and did a seriously nice job of it.

Looks like a truck in a basket bring your own basket deal but it may be the deal of the month https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...3A108%7D%22%7D
The 1500 may or may not be the right price. If I had the money and the price was right I'd have the trailer hooked up and be headed out.
