Installed new pads. Removed the dash bezel because I'm going to paint it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Are you guys that are dropping in engines removing the hoods. I am going to remove and replace my engine this weekend and don't want to remove hood if I do not need to.

No way to get the engine out without removing the hood, so tape the locations as mentioned.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
From yesterday, but I had the truck in the shop to figure out some wiring nightmares today. Here's "Black Cat" freshly washed. I'll have to wait to hand wash it until the weekend. Bought this truck last weekend, no rust other than the front cab mounts, a little bit on the driver floor, and the tailgate. '67 GMC 3/4 ton.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Tore out the front suspension and steering. Going to be replacing everything except the control arms and drag link. New parts started arriving last week. I think the item I am most excited about is the faster ratio steering box
Here is the video from this week. Not much to video since it was all disassembly. Will get a lot more interesting when I start putting the new parts on! |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
That was a total photobomb. My wildass buddies were hanging across the isle when I decided to snap some pics of my truck last weekend at Carlisle. Crazy Hanson saw the flas and was over in a flash. I knew he was there as I aimed and feared he was going down farther than that. Thank GAWD he didn't

Hmmm. Maybe that '67 grille will fit mine without changing a bunch of trims parts around it.
New box from Redhead?

Took advantage of the nice weather today and pulled the bed off the frame. Need to weld new mount perches on then I am going to pressure wash and rust proof the frame. Fun stuff!

Rolled the beast out today for the first time this year. The wife came out and said instead of standing there looking at that money pit go to the nurseries and get the trees we need. So first day hauling trees. All men need a truck if they are married!!!!! Have a good one eh!

Today I cleaned up a couple of wheel cylinders using a vintage AAMCO brake honing set I inherited from my Dad.
