Drove the old girl. Finally got all the interior wiring repairs done. It felt so good driving the ole girl again.

She even paused long enough to get a picture with her younger siblings.

Thank you Lugnutz, I am happy overall as well.

Biggest thing is slow progress, but hey, it is progress.

Love the third pic with the other trucks in the background.

Glad you got to go for a drive, that is always a good thing.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Grizz and I had a bumper thread going , seems m.i.a.
Ordered new hydraulic clutch because Hookers don't clear arm, so new style will be installed.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I scored a front and and 10 bolt off an 1984 C10 for 80 bucks! Too bad I didn't have anyone home to help me unload it so I tore it down as much as I could in the truck. Going to rebuild it after my back stops hurting, haha. Being 150lbs. and lifting a rear end is never good on the body, even for a young guy

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Well we made great progress today. This truck basically sat since 1985 (last registration) and my son and I cleaned this thing up. It was a REAL mess for sure!! All the old repaint looks like it will come off also as we just hosed it off with a higher pressure hose end and it was just falling off down to the original sea mist jade paint. We clean out the bed and interior aired up the tires, and installed the correct hood today. We still have a LONG way to go but had allot of fun getting everything we did get done to it today.! See the before and after! Bottom before top after with new correct hood.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Hi, I got my 64 up on stands and a good amount of it tore apart, I am taking it down to the frame for a frame up restoration.

Take care

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Today I rebuilt the front drum brakes on my 69 C10. The drums believe it or not have never been changed out. It was a son of a gun getting them off. The hub was factory rivited to the drum. When you buy a new drum it doesn't come with the hub.

Busy day and got a lot done. Rebuilt front hubs with new races and bearings. Installed DS inner fender, grille support splash pan seal, and grille support. Sandblasted a few parts too. It's starting to look like a truck again.

How about some cab corner speaker mounts!

Use a 12 x 12 piece of sheet metal, bend in two places. It holds a 6 x9 speaker in the corner behind the door.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Nice. Throw some foam baffles on the back of the speakers, it will really help the sound. They won't sound great if the back is open to the cab.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I was wondering about that. I did not want jam anything in the corner that would encourage rust. These look like a great option.

I was really trying to find a speaker location that was out of the way. My old location was in the door and was not well done. The speakers got damp, the grilles got kicked.

This location is not audiophile nirvanna but better than the door.

Is that rubber at the bottom of your grill surround stock or custom? Mine did not have one nor did I see staple holes for one.

Mine had it from the factory but it was old and rotten. This is a new piece I bought from Car & Truck Shop. They have a CA and a NC store. I can get you the part number if you need it.

Since I will be doing something like that before long on mine, what did you use for lenses and any special hook-up advice for us wiring idiots.
