This thing is over the top. Those hood hinges look like sculpture, I'd hate to cover them up by putting a hood on them.

Thanks! I'm not sure how I got started down THAT road but you all know once you start down it, there's no turning back, hell, ya can't even find a place to pull over! Those hinges are one of the things I paid for and after getting them, knew why they cost so much, but loved them. As for the hood, it will complement them, I hope.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Drove it up and down the street, the windows work and most everything, except the brake lights. Loaded the new MC and booster in plus fluid to to take to the shop to be installed. I am too old to lay under there and do it myself. lol.

I don't have any problem laying under the thing! the problem is getting back up and every time I get on the floor I find that I have everything but what I need

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Ha, old knees and bifocals take the fun out of it.

Ordered a new gas gauge in 30 ohm to match my autometer set, the new tank is a 59 impala and it was easier to replace the gauge than try to change out the pickup tube and sender.

Note to manufactures, why not make a sender that fits these tanks in 90 ohm and sell it?

I just called Roddoors and spoke with Blaine and I can confirm that he is open for business. He said that he's running on a smaller scale, down from 13 employees to just himself. He does have inventory left so give him a call.

Ah wow - it's GREAT to hear they are still operating- I guess he got my business then because the product I ordered from Chevy's of the 40's is a RodDoors product and I called for a shipping status today - was told they are being 'drop shipped from the manufacturer'.

He should update his website asap - I always planned on doing business with them but looked elsewhere after I saw the 'we had to shutdown' notice.

More than losing a source of parts, this was sad because it was yet another American small business that couldn't sustain in this economy as well as a valued supplier for unique, quality products for our trucks.

Do give them a call when your ready for interior!

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

New rear window is in, nice tint matches the sides, front windshield out, no rust on the lip, just some 50 year old Nevada dust. Wonder if its radioactive? Joy, Joy, Joy.

I finished the install of a rear view camera which required me to move around my license plate lights. I also finished installing a flip down license plate that I made.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I started fighting with a HVLP gun last saturday - sprayed/sanded down a fender 3 times - adjusted everything including paint mixture - couldn't shake the issues.

Pulled out old trusty, my $49.00 Lowes HP gun and hit both fenders and the underside of the hood with paint and clear today - look beautiful - HVLP just isn't for me I guess....

I am a few solid days of work away from putting the front back on the truck

Here are a couple pics per your request. Nothing too fancy. The last pic is of the LED license plate bolt lights that I bought. Stainless steel and for under $10.00........thanks EBay.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

well got about 3/4 of the front suspension out of the '87 for the swap on the daughters '66 then put all the front suspension back on the completed Camaro clip on my '59, now on to laying out the rear 4 bar and getting ready for the bags.
