I love all the custom fab work you're doing under the hood and to the hood ,it looks spectacular! Sectioning the hood is a unique idea and I personally haven't seen it done on a 72' hood can't wait to see how it turns out, the core support is another unique idea that's lookin sweet. Everything is executed very well and looks proportionate ,good job on this one.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

got a little more work on the hood done...welded the front header pnl back on (after it got lowered 1.25")...got the two pieces joined together again (this was very time consuming getting the fit right)...and got it all tacked together, the curved pieces on the side need to be pie-cut and molded in still, but you get the idea of the final product....IMO this is one of my favorite mods, its very subtle, but has that sleak 'somethings been done, but i dont know what' look...the front has that verical look(from the front) of the 71, but has that slight laid back look of the 67-68 style hoods....i cut releif cuts near the curve on the front and also in the middle, so i could give it more of a angle then the 71 hood, but less of that of a 67-68 hood..so far its coming out very well and i think it fits the look of the truck awsome..also here is a side-by-side compairison of a stock 71 hood and the moddified one...i also couldnt resist setting it on the truck for some pics..

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

68 short, i was watching you cut that hood and i kept thinking why not just run the older hood with the slope.. Then i saw the final project and man, that is awesome. Its almost cowl hoodish looking without the cowl hood.. Sick.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

I have a question. I seen that you ran the fan support through the radiator instead of making some kind of bracket to support it. I've heard that this could sometimes cause a leak in the radiator due to vibration and such. The question I have is this really that big of a concern when installing electric fans?

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

thanks everyone.....wcodyp, the electric fan has some foam spacers that actually contact the radiator at the point of contact....the fan also has a 'lip' on the shroud so there is not a sharpe point hitting the rad. fins....all this sufrace area is mounted on the fins, and isnt hitting the core/tubes of the radiator....ive never had problems with electric fans causeing leaks in a radiator due to vibration....the manufactures instructions also say to mount the fan in this way, so i think we'll be ok.
