No, you will still need fuel inj. clamps (the down side to it but the cost is much lower) I just turn the clamps over so you dont see the ugly side.

Re: 53 Surburban "Family Truckster"
Ok so a little while back I asked for a scape piece of bed rail for a project. I noticed in a picture I found on line that there was this piece on someone else's suburban that looked like it belonged there behind the rear leg of the jump seat.. Mine originally did not have this piece but my floors were junk. I noticed two issues when I reinstalled my jump seat. (1) the floor (16g) was oil canning slightly when the seat was slid into position. (2) the front seat edge height of the jump seat did not line up with the main seat edge height. This piece I added keeps the seat from sliding too far back which improved the seat height and also the oil canning. It was a win win.
I hope these pictures help to explain what I did. Marc

Re: 53 Surburban "Family Truckster"
So I spent a little time in the garage this weekend. I tore down my LS motor further. I removed intake and fuel rails. I also rearranged my garage to gain some space. I hung my doors up and my hood which gained me some space. I then fully cleaned all of the dust and dirt on the floors. It feels goof to have a little more order in my small work shop.
I ordered all of my fuel line/hose and fittings. It will be here Monday. I also ordered (2) SS 2.5 gallon storage tanks for air. I plan to get a lot of this stuff mounted this week... I also picked up a set of 18" rollers since my last pair went with the Camaro that I sold. Marc

It's always a struggle to work in a small garage. My garage is 12X20. Rims look cool are you using them when it's done?

Re: 53 Surburban "Family Truckster"
OK more progress to report. My SS 2.5 gallon tanks showed up this afternoon. I picked them up off of eBay. After a couple minutes looking it over I decided I could use a factory hole in the frame for a pass through for the lead hose coming off of the compressor. The compressors are Viair twin packs that I picked up cheap a few weeks back.
I even made good use of some Accuair decals that I got for free a few weeks back and stuck them on my eBay tanks to make them look fancy.. Marc

Re: 53 Surburban "Family Truckster"
I received all of my various fittings and fuel line from Summit Racing. The idea will be to run the black mesh/rubber hose from the fuel tank up the inside of the notch to the fuel filter. From the filter forward I will go with steel gas line and then back to rubber hose from the frame rail to the fuel rail. All fittings will be black. I purposely mounted the compressor on the passenger side a little higher to provide space for a fuel line to run under it. There is more room under it than it looks in the picture.
I can't say enough good things about the Summit hose and fittings. I have used braided SS hose before and I will never use that stuff again. It was a pain to get the hose inside the fittings and I always stuck myself with metal barbs. The stuff from Summit is not cheap (Russell makes a cheaper version blk and blue in color) but I wanted to use Summit hose with Summit fittings. I also did not but any special tools or claps to join the hose and fittings. I did use (2) line wrenches to no mark up the fittings and it went smooth. A lot of you might be thinking "why is he screwing with fuel delivery at this point". My idea is to try to get major systems complete and checked off. Fuel delivery was one that was easy to complete. Tomorrow I will purchase one of the last pieces to complete my air suspension. I will be ordering my Accuair valve body. On my 48 truck I did a poor job of completing all of the fitment of everything prior to paint. Wayne (Parkwood) suggested to me long ago this was the way he does all of his builds. It was great advise. I really like the idea of doing all of this work prior to the frame being painted. Here are some pics. Marc
