I have a small custom shop "Pops Chop Shop" helping me with the metal fab/welding. I'm doing everything else from teardown/cleanup/frame and suspension painting/suspension install/wiring/interior, etc... He's doing the metal work; and helping with assembly, body work and paint. And providing invaluable help when I get stuck on something or need an extra hand.

Thanks and you're welcome. I am just glad he's making progress while I've been tied up with other responsibilities. Gotta make money to pay for it and also help family out before the truck

thanks guys. Forgot to mention we're going to add bracing on the inside to support the large flat panels. The curved panel to smooth the tranny tunnel and the one made to mirror the other side of the firewall are both very strong due to the bends/wheel work. But the flat panels can deflect so we'll add bracing. Waiting to mock up some things including the A/C unit before constructing them to make sure we only have to do the work once.

Have you decided on an a/c and heat system? I have been hearing good things about Vintage Air ($1125 ouch!)
I am hoping to find someone who has given up on their project that wants to sell it a little cheaper.

been checking out your pics from over in Mechanicsville. One day I"l have the $$ to get someone to do the rust repair my cab needs, then mine might be worth doing some other work too. Progress looks great so far.

I've been looking for a deal for a while myself. I like the Vintage air controllers the best also.

Thanks for checking it out. I do all the work around my house and try to do what I can on my vehicles, but certain things make more sense to have someone else do. Just buying and learning the welder and body tools would cost more than I will end up paying for the work I'm having done. Then I'd have countless hours doing the work. This way, we both work on it, the project moves along faster, and also I have some time some weekends/evenings to do side jobs to fund the project and work still progresses without me.

Yeah, I told him what a good deal it was. I'm actually wanting to do cherry wood and smooth strips w/ hidden mounting so no bolt holes....

Trying to get some parts ordered and other sold (and finding time to ship them) has been an issue lately. Haven't been over to the truck in a while to work but plan on attacking it again next week hopefully with some final suspension parts.

I got by for an hour or so to do some grinding on the firewall and driprails and they are coming out great. Took pictures but my camera is over at my brother in law's where we're remodeling his basement after a flood. Will be going there this evening so I'll upload those pics tonight.

It wasn't a kit actually, it's the rear brake bracket from captainfab on here (find them in the vendor classifieds here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=375640)
The rotors are HD 12" that were crossdrilled. I'm not sure on the calipers...I'm checking with the PO to find out what application they are for. They don't have an E-brake but I didn't want them anyways for a cleaner look on the caliper and under the truck.

Are you attempting to keep track of some of these long labour hours? Alot of folks would be surprised at how long things take to do. I'd like to pick up another truck to modify with alot of these procedures I see done in this and other threads. Where I live; I've never seen another 2wd Blazer so I'm not doing anything un-reversible to it. Anyways, looking sweet so far-nice work!

I'm trying to keep track. Actually just talking with Jason about that the other day. I have a good record of what days I worked on this thread and will go back and add up where I am so far on hours ( I think around 150-175 so far). Jason keeps track of all of his hours and has them written down so I'll know those exactly. The one thing that won't be measured is the COUNTLESS hours I've spent here, online, and buying/selling/delivering/picking up parts. I spend AT LEAST 1-2 Hours a day doing that and some days much more. So in the 18 months I've owned the truck I have probably 1000 hours in planning and buying/selling parts. That's a lot of time but I have learned SO much and gained so many ideas I've been able to use/modify to use on this truck.
Also, a good portion of those hours have been finding deals and reselling parts locally. There is NO WAY I could build a truck this nice without doing that. The money I have made from that has paid for the Accuair suspension, the fab work being done, all the sheetmetal, all the brake/suspension parts,..basically it has paid for everything and I still am ahead at this point. The only real expense at this point has been the initial cost of the truck. Everything else has been paid for by the parts sales. I have a few more parts to sell but a LOT more to buy/pay including paint and final body work and now the wood bed items. So I will have a good amount into the truck when all is said and done, but not nearly as much as I would if I hadn't traded/bought/sold parts.

For those interested, I did a spreadsheet and put the retail cost in on all the parts going on the truck, then added in paint supplies and materials used (sanding discs, wire wheels, etc.....not tools)
