No, the trim will be off for a while though and I will replace it with new pieces from Mar-K later on. I've been talking it over with James (bigmac68) already and he's given me tons of advice. The current plan is to shoot the truck solid green to make it look better and then work one spot at a time. Before the trim goes back on, it will go back to 2 tone paint.

Behind the camera. I did a little of everything as we all did with the exception of welding the holes. Nobody had the skills for that but Neil. We had fun and mostly just bs'ing. We were there all day until about 8:00pm

Yeah I have to have the upper and lower trim and 2 tone paint on mine. They just don't look right without it.

No, it looks like it held up fine. I'm glad you made me wait a little bit before pulling it back out into the rain. I probably would have just taken off and ruined it.

Guess what though? Since I haven't picked up the vacum line from John yet my defroster wasn't working and I couldn't see for squat on the way home last night and coming into blanchard some jerkoff had his lights on bright and I couldn't see anything!! Some fog on the window and the glossy wet streets combined with my old headlights and I hit a freakin curb at like 50mph. It was that spot as your coming into town where it splits into 2 lanes and the right lane turns right. I could only make out the white line at the side of the road so I was trying to follow that and I didn't see that triangle shaped concrete section out in the road until the last minute. I tried to swerve left but I still hammered it with both rightside tires.

I can't tell that it hurt anything yet but I will have to look it over later.

Tell me about it. I stopped and looked at what I could see in the dark which wasn't much but the ride and the steering seemed normal so I hope it didn't hurt much. Thankfully it wasn't a high curb and it had a little bit of a slant to it.

Re: And so it begins................

Todays work.

I decided to start in on the rest of the front clip. Neil's harassing me about not getting anything done!!!

I ground off the rest of the trim clips

Got most of the fender sanded.

Then I broke my 20.00 freakin sander! I'm so ticked............. well I'm 20.00 ticked anyway!!

Finished sanding by hand and masked it off.

Primer and wet sand.

Sealer

Done.......... for now anyway. I have a couple of small dings to go back and fix but I'm trying to get the majority of the work done first so it's not down so long.

Re: And so it begins................

No everything will go back on eventually. It will end up 2tone green and white again with the cheyenne trim and a different fender badge (I want one that says GMC 402). Once I get as much body work done as I can I'm going to paint it solid green to make it look a little better and then hit the rockers and corners one at a time. Once that is all done I'll shoot the white and put the trim back. It will take a while.

Yeah I have an HVLP. You can see it mounted on the side of the bed in one of the pics but I'll probably take it out to Neils to shoot it in his new shop!!
