It got a little loose on that one turn. Its hard to tell if he crossed the line, or the exhaust dusted it as it went by.

GOOD MORNING MUTHA TRUCKERS!!!! we're still pretty tired around here this a.m., but we had a great weekend. Between the thrash to get the truck up and running and our annual track day on thursday, last week didn't offer much sleep. Thursday night the truck was finally loaded at 3 a.m., and then a 2+ hr drive to Del-Mar. Marcel and Edwin were still buffing as we were loading the truck. The shop is a mess. I slept from 6:30 till noon on friday morning, and then got up and cleaned the truck. After tech, we got one check out pass friday afternoon. After some good pizza and beer with friends and the crew, we crashed early. Saterday we made five more runs, then three more sunday. Here's the good and bad. The gears in the quickchange are set too tight, way too tight, it will have to come apart and be fixed. The springs, 500 frt, and 200 rr, ar too stiff, swapping to 400/150 right away. The power steering feels very heavy, a valve or a pulley will fix that. Then it's tune, tune, tune. O.K., no heat coming through the floor and tunnel . Brakes feel good. - frt/rr bias was the only thing I tuned all weekend. All the mechanicles are good. I dig the guages, the tach is easy to read, and the temp guages have built in warning lights. It's FAST, really fast. The motor pulls hard, and although it's not sorted out at all, I can tell by the feel of the platform that it will be a terror on the track and street. I'll try to get more picts and video up today, now I got to go and clean the shop.

2 words sum it up: BAD ASS! You guys did an amazing job in a short time and came out of the blocks hard! That truck is amazing and will go down in history as an ICON! Trend setting! Go kick the crap outta come camaros and vettes!

Shots during the final push. 1. From the bottom you can see the floor layout, and exhaust path back and to the pass side. 2. from the bottom side, the rear end, fitted tank and air ducts for the radiator. 3. lots of insulation going in.

1. some foam going on the dash. Odd looking, but I can see the Tach and speedo at a glance, no blocking from the steering wheel. 2. No Limit fabbed alt. mount. Old school adjustment. 3. No water pump up front = lots of plumbing off the block.

1. On the pass side cyl head, I mounted the KRC power steering pump. 2. Drivers side header with the 'hot-dog' loop, needed to fit in for tube length and the plugs. The headers are try-Y design, mostly for packaging. 3. Pass. rear corner, with battery, fuel pump and wiring, Yes, we did clean this mess up, looks much more organized now.

1. shot of the rear just as we're wrapping things up. 2. the rear gate will have mesh grills soon, to help clean up the rear. 3. On the hard cover, we used 3m adhesive to hold the skins on, this stuff is way strong.

1. This is the hard cover frame with the skins next to it. The skins are 'Alumna-lite', a sign board material made of thin aluminum bonded to a layer of abs corrigated sheet. 2. the cover with the skins on. the white is a baked on finish, later we will wrap this to better match the truck. 3. the cover in place on the truck. The cover wieghs only 28 lbs total, not to bad.

OK, I usually don't like people to see our shop like this, but this is what happens late at night, with a few hours to go. pict 1 is at apx 11:00 pm on thursday night. From left to right, Mike (Sullivan) eating and checking the rear relay stack, Edwin color sanding with 1500, Carl, the super-tuner, working on the ECU, and wild Bill greasing up the IFS, getting ready to hang sheet metal. - notice that is really dark outside. 2. Monday morning, in the bomb testing area, time to clean up.

Since this is a really big learning experience for me with all the new stuff, I thought I'd pass on some of the info. This will be scattered in for the next few years. First off, How did the weekend go? - really? Pretty good. I was nervous about a lot of things, mostly gears, cooling and the suspension. And, did we tighten up all the bolts. So, nothing fell off, and it turns left and right. The cooling works very well, but, it makes me nervous knowing if its on or not. So, we'll be adding some indicator lights into the dash to tell me when the pump and fan are on. That brings up a question, why doesn't Autometer or VDO put turn sig and high beam indicators in the speedo? I used a 3/4" clutch master, as recomended, and the new McCloud hydrolic throwout bearing. It works good, but needs a lot of pedal travel, this may be fine in the average truck or car, but I'd like to have the pedal heads even for quick foot action. So, I'm going to try a 7/8" clutch master, and hope that it's not too hard to push, - it's really easy now so a little firmer would be good, but not too much. I will be finishing the interior and door panels soon, and decided to put a pocket into the door panel for a temp gun, a tire pressure guage and a log book. - never have a place for them. Anyway, the first time out was a big hit. We heard VERY encouraging comments, and thank you guys for them too. Next comes the Truckin' Throwdown, we'll be taking both trucks, the 'Bullit, and the new C-10, 'HellBoy'. We've got about 5 weeks to get ready, and lots to do. I'll keep ya posted.

Hey Rob instead of changing out the clutch master cylinder, you could just move the push rod away from the pivot on the foot pedal giving you the travel you will need on the 3/4" master. Just an idea.

The only part that sucks, is that I was on a food run on Saturday when you took the truck for a "loop", I heard that it was very exciting with the spins. I can see were your saying about the springs getting sorted out. How was Tina with the ride.....lol. Just make sure to get it worked out by next Sept, I want it to be perfect when I get to make a lap in it on the Labor Day Cruise.........hee hee hee

Great job on the truck, I am still shaking my head at it's 2800 lbs curb weight.

Moving the pivot would be the easy way, but the Wilwod aluminum pedal has no room. Here's the funny thing about the loop, my parents came down to the show with their 51 chev sed., and to see the new truck, the first run they watched, I got loose, and then looped it for fun, and to see how it would recover. The crowd went wild, so I looped it a few more times. Afterwards, my mom says, "That wasn't the fast way around", I said, "if your not in the dough, put on a show" - not sure she got it. For sure we'll have all three trucks at the Labor Day Cruise, and I promised Tina I'd finish her mustang by then, - more thrashing in the future.
