Schnikies! That's pretty close! I gotta get off my dead butt and update. I have a lot of pics and whatnot, just gotta get it together. The garage looks so bare!

Ha, probably not till its warmer. I've had my fill of cold garage floor for the moment. I was looking at wheels for LBT today, though.

That's the nice thing about having a heated shop to work in! Just can't find the time to actually DO the work....and natural gas ain't cheap these days!

Ok, so I need to put up a real update. We had a few things to do before the show, the motor and master cyl. looked like crap and we had some other touch ups to do. So, we got started.

Sweet, One big check on the bucket list as done.
Can't wait til the day comes when I get to put something into a show.
Must be a real High to tell someone, "Nope, it ain't forsale".

I can't wait to see Bompenstein in a show! That thing's gonna stop traffic! (In a good way)

One of the for sale guys was kinda lightly asking, the other guy was ready to slap leather. Boppa told him thanks, but it was built to stay in the family. That's kinda the ultimate compliment, I think, when someone likes your work enough that they're willing to put the asking cash down. Then you gotta start over!

Mine too. Haven't had anyone ask if it was for sale though. Maybe they can tell by the look in my eyes not to even ask.

The truck turned out great. It's really a PITA to clean them up for a show ain't it? Can't imagine doing that routinely. I'm kinda lazy though when it comes to clean up.

It wasn't too bad, it really hasn't been driven much. It was mostly covered with crud from working on it. Really need to run it down with #7 on foam. We did it by hand at the show, but it needs a good rub out. Thanks for checkin' in!

Re: Boppa's old yeller truck

So this is hands-down TOTM. I don't know how to start the nomination process or even see who's already been picked. I hope it's not too late. Far more significant than the cool truck we're talking about here is the "Family and Friends" factor. He built this truck for his Pa! There's so many posts by the builder that ring true and just as many that just crack us all up. I'd also like to point out what a contributor Chip has been to this site. He's made a huge impact on my build. Thanks!!

Re: Boppa's old yeller truck

Huh? Whut? Did I miss somethin'?

Man, I appreciate it, but it's not necessary. It's a paint job that got out of hand! Boppa said last night, it's gonna live a lot easier life from here on. It's given Tillie the Giant Lab a ride since the show, but that's about it, the weathers really down the crapper. Vic bought parts he can't even get home! Thanks again for the props!

He's got my vote ...Yeller looks even better in person. Plus anyone that shares their beer goes to the head of the list!

You didn't miss a thing man. I see a lot of the builds going on here and for sure you're right in the pack in terms of workin man budget and family man bandwidth. All I'm saying is that your "paint job" () was from the heart and well done. You DO deserve a few props for that. We'll need a pic of Boppa and the Pooch on here too.

Ha, one of Boppa's friends has been known to say "you better like beer around those guys, they'll slap one in your hand in the first minute!" Come by and have another one anytime, Vic! Johnny, you should know, though, I get defensive when it comes to pizza. Gotta keep up my fabulous figure! Thanks again for the props.

Low
After seeing your link back in my build thread I ended up reading your whole thread last night. I can honestly say I am jealous. And all though Boppa’s truck turned out great. That alone aint it. Friends and family man. Awesome! Did I mention the truck? Looking forward to seeing what’s next with the LBT even though I usually don’t go low. Haven’t yet any way but it could happen.
