Re: The Project Havoc....
hey guys, been busy, check out the camaro build for a full idea why< as for Havoc, my own company whom i work for< decided to pull her off the road, so as of now i have to fight to put her back on the road< and over stupid stuff!!!! side windows are illegal, no side reflectors... stoopid ****, they just wanted to make a point with me, because i work there and i am heavily involved in the hot rod community, even the police that were then when this happened apoligized to me saying that his should not happen. what happened to free speech and your rights, my truck is not unsafe or anything like that, there is a ton worse vehicles on the road and they choose mine to do this to, so for the past 3 months i have been gathering information regarding all aspects of cars, and still no word, i will keep fighting and let you all know what is going on!!!!

Re: The Project Havoc....
hmmm that sucks , must be some powerful company to be able to say someones not alowed to drive his own truck
the reflector issue is eazy to solve with stick on reflectors that happen to fall of after the new test i dunno about the sidewindows , didnt even knew they could be illegal unless there shaded to dark , if thats the case replace the windows with stock ones and move on . they are the company you work for and might not take whell to you fighting them (its verry hard to find a new job these days ) even if there wrong

Re: The Project Havoc....
I never would have thought the lack of side reflectors is something SGI would pick up on. My truck has had plexiglass painted to match in place of my side reflectors since I bought it and I've never had an issue. But now you have me starting to second guess shaving the side markers when I restore the truck. The windows do not surprise me though, not many people manage to keep tinted windows for very long.

Re: The Project Havoc....
So, I had a meeting with inpsections the other day about my truck, The basic run down of it, is my truck is not allowed back on the road until it passes their inpsections, So i have a crap load of stuff to change and no money to do it. That means she is sitting for who knows how long. We had a good chat and did work out a few things, they realized that they screwed up, but it is too far in the system now to back out they said. That means i am messed. They did put plates on her again, but i am not allowed to drive her, basically just for insurance purposes. So I have a major decision now ahead of me. What do i do with Havoc. To be truthfull, i knownow what i have to do, take her down to the bare frame, change a few things on her, then just finish and paint her. Drive my crappy car for now, put my money into her. The wifey wants me to finish her and drive her. So that is what I am gonna do> she will come back to the garage in about may/june for a teardown again. I am gonna work with our inpsections crew up here on what we as hotrodders can and can not do, or are allowed to do< as it sits to them, my truck is basically 100% illegal. go figure, but I am gonna get involved and change this.I hope things are gonna work out and that i can once again beat on Havoc!!!!
Later guys, from the low man on the totem pole in Canada

Sorry to hear about your truck, hopefully it doesn't take too long to get it back to their standards. I hope they don't stop mine.

Re: The Project Havoc....
James, if you havent already and I realize SEMA is lower 48 but you might get some insight and assistance from the reps within the organization that might be somewhat beneficial. It is the screamin sh--s that we builders have to divide our time between building and legislating or lobbing but it sounds like that may be the direction you need to pursue. I have no doubt with your skill level and exposure within the hot rod community you will have no problem in finding like minded hot rodders that will come together for the common cause. Alll that being said NEVER underestimate the power of "We The People" and if anyone does not believe or understand that just take a look at the current situation in the mid east ! Dont even get me started been fighin the "authorities" over motorcycle related issues and modifications since 1968 and still in the battle. Best wishes to ya my friend!
