Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

this thread needs more rust

got the sill plates off, installed the dome light, mat, and seat..

had to cut a few screws and chase a lot of threads but it all went together fairly decent I think..

little trick I'll share in case someone hasn't seen it;

the truck shop mat went down pretty easy and most of the holes lined up with the impressions on the back..

especially pleased how well it sits in there since I dropped it right on the bare floor without tar or foam or anything yet..

$10 harbor freight gasket punch kit is probably spent, but did the trick for the mat and the seat..

even cleaned up all of the original pedal pads.. wd40 and steel toothbrush to clean and stand up a little fur to cut the gloss..

de-greased with 409 to get that squeaky, non-slip finish back..

my 6yo took some of these while I was trimming and fitting..

the seat story about this fabric from SMS has been beat to death so I'll spare everyone..

but the work Mando from San Pedro did putting it together is great, really comfortable seat..

and while I was cleaning all of the mechanisms and lubing the tracks, found what I think is a date..

all of the LOF glass is dated Feb or Mar 65 so 2/8/65 would fit, anyone know about this?

kids dig it! they took turns driving

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Started prepping some parts for paint over the past couple days, and got some parts to get the engine back together. Hoping to make at least the Atlanta stop of Power Tour this year. Going to shoot some color in the next couple of days hopefully.

Prepped the bed for Upol Raptor Liner. I have a beat up steel bed floor from a '71 c10 and this should make it look so much better!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

From the seat to the engine bay.
Installed the Clifford intake, 2 barrel Holley and Langdon headers.
Tomorrow I need to visit the guy at the hydrolic shop, who is going to make up some braided hoses for the intake water jacket. Then to Meineke to do the exhaust.
I also have the lower thermostat housing, that's in the photo on the seat, to install. It has two holes on the sending unit side so I can plumb the hot water from there.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Finally sprayed the Upol Raptor bed liner. I sanded, cleaned, and sprayed Upol's Acid primer #8 prior to laying it down. It was super easy and looks great. It will be a week or so before I can test it out, though.

The bed floor is from a '71, I believe, and beat to hell, but it was free. I do not like the wood beds.

Installed fiberglass smooth dash. No switches, no nothing except 6 gauges. Will repaint to match console later.

You can't just drop that and leave. Who made the dash? Where did you buy it?

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

This fiberglass dash for 60-66 C10 was purchased from US Body Source. Around $300 bucks plus shipping of $150. Took 8 weeks to receive it and comes very very rough. It needed a lot of work fitting and smoothing to get ready for paint. When it is all done I think it will be awesome, but if I had to do again for the price and work, probably not. Probably just weld on the original.

Installed the mid shift kit on the tremec this evening. Now the shifter won't be under the cab floor anymore.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Had my front fender, hood, grill, bumper and headlight straightened. First time I've ever seen one of these awesome machines work. It was fun watching a pro work and move it all back to its proper place, or at least close enough.

How do you like that steering wheel? I've been eyeing that same one for awhile.
