Your front 4-link mount may be up in the floor, depending on where your ride height is set.
And that depends on where full dump is to lay flat with your tires.

With the 4-link tacked in place, you will easily be able to see where the cross bars need to be for the bag mounts and shock mounts.
This will dictate where the sides of the notch need to be.
You also need added height for the center section of the rearend.
Hmmmm.....all very valid points...maybe i just need to do that, Slow down and wait until i get the parts here and mock that up ! Sometimes my A.D.D.....pushes me too fast and i need someone to make some valid points to slow me down so i dont end up doing it twice ! LOL, Thanks !

See how the front 4-link mounts are straight out in front of the axle tube when they are parallel with the ground?
You might have to fab some new rear 4-link axle mounts with some height built into them to allow you to lower the front mounts.

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

I don't have any pics to offer on the rear suspension, but my 82 Blazer was set to run the frame 3/4" off the ground. Our calculations indicated we could do this with a mild notch that would only raise the rear floor 3". We would have been able to run the stock rear seat and still lay out on 22's.

Note that these pics show the rear with a mild C-notch. The project was sold before the rear was finished.

None! The front rails are custom built with a Scotts IFS. The stock rails still reside under the cab.

The stock rails hang down 2 3/4 inches past my pinchweld in front of the rear wheels , and i want to be able to lay the pinch welds , maybe that is where my difference is coming from ? part of it anyway .

I guess I missed the part that you wanted to lay pinch. I thought you were building this so it wouldn't drag body since your wife was the intended user.

I don't remember exactly how close my pinch would be aired out, but it was very little clearance. I planned a nice paint job, and had no desire to risk it in the event of an air system failure. I had planned to run .50 removable drag blocks on the bottom of the frame to save it from damage.

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

I must be getting the cart way ahead of the horse....After everyones advice i think i will do the Stock Floor Body drop part of the frame rails and get that actually done so i can lay it out and then go from there and see what i need to do next....maybe make me a set of 30 inch plywood wheels to bolt on my rear end also, to mock up the real height !

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

Nice, ill be looking forward to seeing what you do with hood/cowl. Chopping the stocks would be nice.. Only thing i hate is that theres no armrest but i guess we got one on the doors. I love the stock plaid look, i think imma roll with stock and keep the plaid look but not in a stock color. Im sure its been said in the thread already but i dont feel like reading all day...what engine/trans you running?
