Re: Senior Project Build

Your thread is swaying my dad and I to the Ls side The motor has to come out anyway for paint, gaskets, cam, and maybe heads and by the time I do that the bottom end would likely just blow up on me. Plus the Ls will help me out with mileage while still smoking the small block. They sound way cooler aswell, especially at 7000 rpm.

Good deal man. That was the same thinking I had, the old SB needed alot of work, and this seemed like a good time to upgrade

:UPDATE:

I have been reassembling the motor, and was trying to remove the front cover crank seal and like a noob I busted the cover. Now I am on the hunt for another one. Then I get to finish assembly

Re: Senior Project Build

Yeah, I found a company that has all different types of ls motors that come like this, but the one i'm looking at is a low mile lq4 that comes with a stand alone stock computer and wiring with a/c compressor, power steering pump, and cable throttle all for 2300$ ready to go. Can't say where though

Re: Senior Project Build

Everything is settled in, and I love the look. Only thing is, the motor mount adapters aren't quite lined up with the stock holes, so I guess it all has to come back out for some drilling the F body headers fit great, need to dimple one tube and hopefully they fit around the starter. The best thing is they are even with the frame rails, nothing hanging down to snag. And all the brand new exhaust was pulled out, still in one piece (mostly) to make room for 3 inch stuff. If you are local and are interested in it, hit me up

Re: Senior Project Build

Have you tried wiggling it all around? It took alot of effort with the pry bar to get all my motor mount bolts in, trying to get the engine and everything lined up for teh bolts.

PICs or GTFO

They are a little farther off than that, although I don't want to drill so I will look at it closer and see if any of it can shift. I did post a pic
