Martin, got your message, I was at a fund raiser for the North East Air Ambulance last night so couldn't pick up, big bad head this morning (but it was for a good cause )
All of the hoses are stainless, most are neoprene/rubber lined but the ones for the trans cooler are PTFE (rubber is a bit iffy at higher temeratures). I always seem to have a load of fittings lying around but anything I was short of came from Hosefittings UK, they are based in Birmingham, prices are reasonable and they are very helpful. Getting threaded fittings for US engines is really easy as everything is NPT (british engines tend to use BSP there's a much smaller selection available) for everything else you just need the AN- size. The radiator hoses came from Summit Racing, but I wouldn't recommend them they are quite poor quality, the hose finishers are OK but the hose walls are thin and the braid is poor, I will change them at some point. The trans pan and cover, I went for the "tin" ones. I figured the only person would would get to appreciate the alloy ones would be the bloke who does the MOT

Just got off the phone with the boy… He tried the Kohl's near him and…. wait for it...
Long story short… they didn't have those shirts, and when he tried to get some assistance, that is when the fun started… The girl, at the register he went to, was one of those classic… "lights on, no one home" individuals... He asked her about the shirts, and if he could get some help in that area, cue the Jeopardy theme music, and she went into blank stare mode. She looked at his phone and pic of shirts, then looked at computer screen, then back at t-shirt display in the distance, then back at boy, then at telephone near register… by this time the boy's wife started for the door… he remained quiet waiting for anything, then said "Forget it" and left... He's going to check at another Kohl's...

I started stripping the engine last night ready for paint as it's now on the stand . These are the numbers I have found .
On the front behind the water pump on the flat machined part is V1024UZB On the rear above the oil filter on a machined flat part is CME138359 On the back of the block is in cast is 14093638 If any body can tell the year and what it came from that would be great

The block is 87-95 Chevy 350, could be 2 or 4 bolt mains and either flat or roller tappet cam and 1 piece rear seal…
I'm not sure on the other #'s...

I spoke to a company called Real Steel regarding my flex plate . A very helpful guy there looked it up from all my engine and auto box details and told me they had one in stock .
Well after speaking to Rian yesterday he told me he would be going very near there shop on his route today . I think he wanted too pop in for some parts for himself , so today he collected my parts for me . Thanks mate

Chatham Dockyard with Medway Cruise again last night.
Martin and I always try to make this show as it is local at about 7 miles for both of us, and has such a selection and variety. Last night we went on the bikes as they are easier to get in and out of the area with. I also had to take my impact wrench "Rattle Gun" for Martin to use on some part of his engine that is resisting him right now. Thought I would post in your thread too as I took the pics. I am sadly seeing the demise of this awesome gathering, with it getting banned or moved as it is so oversubscribed and very badly managed in my non expert view....... It used to be a gathering that had up to 150 cars just gather, but last night there was just no rhyme nor reason for who could park where etc...... I prefer a totally mixed show, with no groups etc, but fail to understand what exactly the modus operandi is now. Also needs to root out idiots like the guy in the TVR doing a burnout in the car park. Still, it is always a great evening out, with an amazing mix of stuff, Harley's to Vespas and Lambrettas, Anglias to Mk1 Golfs and everything a rodder could dream of in between. I selectively took about 60 photos, and have reduced them to 10. German 2.6 Injected Capri. Flat out on air C10 This GMC is really hand crafted......... Built on a Winnebago chassis with Big Block motorvation and a drag car on the back, what's not to love. Being our wedding anniversary, what better treat for Nicola than a car show (after all, we spent our honeymoon 5 years ago at the Retro Rides Gathering too) Nicola showing Martin the love. Nice Ford. Evergreen Rover. Bought a week ago, he did not stop grinning. Load bed in metal flake with some candy skull artwork on the bedside. Spotless and for sale. It seems that trucks are really going up in popularity right now, let's hope the bubble does not break any time soon. Moggy. 105E Anglia, I had one years ago, loved it. Here's to another good one next month.

On Friday when I got home , there was a card in the letter box , to say I had a parcel to collect from the post office . Great I thought my air con Bypass pulley has arrived from Rock auto . The best bit the cost of the part £29.41 the worst part our post office pay the £5.67 in VAT then have the audacity to charge £8 for doing this . I thought the highway men used to rob the mail now the mail men rob us
So Saturday morning it was down to the post office to pay the £13.67 . Here's the best bit they want to see your debit card or driving licence as proof of ID but they don't take cards for payment. So I took £13.67 in small change . The pulley to replace the air con pump The pulley in place So on Saturday morning the plan was to do the truck, unfortunately my other half's car overheated on Wednesday evening on her way home . So after collecting my part . My first job was to strip her little Ford Ka to find the problem . I found it was the thermostat and the housing faulty . So off to the local parts store to get the parts and then fix her car . So By 3pm it was a bit late to start rubbing down the chassis . So I thought I would have another go at getting the power steering pulley off as I needed to remove the carrier to get it welded . I had purchased a puller during the week , but unfortunately when I tried to remove the pulley it only came half way off and then the thread in the new tool stripped . I called the supplier on Friday who said they would send out a replacement . But me being impatient and wanting to remove the pulley so I could take it to NSRA show on Sunday, I need too replace the pulley as my new pump is a Woodruff key style and the pump on the engine is a push on style . So out came the welder . First I cut down the nut , and welded a new one on the washer , then used a better bolt to extract the pulley . The kit I purchased The new nut welded to the washer note the stripped thread on the old bolt The pulley half off before thread went on the tool Hey presto it worked . Note the two pump styles the new one came in my power steering kit The reason for removal the small piece broken needing welding Now the part that hurt when . I used the ratchet gun to remove the bolt after welding on the new nut and the spanner slipped off and hit me . So this pulley got its own back . OUCH Just the intake manifold to remove then clean and paint the engine . I won't get my shinny parts till I collect then from Don's in October and after the post office highway robbery you can see why . The engine stripped down So today we had blood sweat and ( tears having to pay the post office )

I feel your pain for the post office, they have butt raped me a few times and it never stops hurting in the wallet. It's not the money, but just the idea that they hold power absolutely over your bits till you pay what they demand. Well done for paying them in 5p and 1p pieces.

Well, another good weekend has come to an end.
Today it was up to this......... Nicola and I had planned this day for some time and were not disappointed. Met up with a few friends, including Ian brown, Del and son Sam from Romford, Adrian from Milton Keynes, all C10 guys. I also met up with Andy from Norfolk to buy some Dinitrol cavity wax that was left over from his International truck build, another nice guy with a good wife. I decided to actually enjoy the show a bit myself with Nicola today, so only took a few random photos of 60-66 Chevy/GMC's in C10 format. Del and son Sam were over I his Stepsise that he is turning into a full Patina looker. Adrian's truck, he fitted new rubber and wheels yesterday, I really love this look. Mick, who I did not meet's truck with lovely Extang tonneau cover. I want one of these Tonneau covers for my truck as well. Just need to figure out which model and size will fit it correctly. Beauty of the day. Pretty bloody good I say.
