Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes

Nice rides special-K, I kinda like everything, Gm is so easy to build and parts availability so have been my favorites but anything else with the right eye can be built cool and maybe a bit more special.

I really dig that IH DRW in post 576. I haven't found any setting around here like that ever.

Don't see anything around like in that post, all the cool old stuff with personality are mostly gone now.

Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes

The N/W US and other northern areas seemed to have the most old 4wds. Farther down the west coast and into the S/W they had a lot, as well. Mostly for recreation. Mountainous regions saw ranchers using them...then the recreational ones. It was fairly rare to have a 4wd for daily use around here in the mid-70s when I first drove them, which was just before the 4wd thing exploded onto the market

Of all the WWII 6x6's the IH's had the best look in my book. Here is one that went to work i the woods after the war and survived. Drive it home today $3000.

Me too, unfortunately for me divorce is more expensive than that truck. And there is no way I can convince her that it would be good to have it in case we suddenly have to start going to the woods to get logs in the dead of winter.

Another favorite of mine. I'm not sure if they have been already posted. A friend of my has a 2wd version for a daily driver and I was very temped to buy his parts panel instead of my Burban.

A Town Wagon or Town Panel Power Wagon is so cool their ugliness looks good.

More IH 4x4 fun. That is quite the pipe on the roof rack. Wish there were some photos of the inside.

Unimog I don't think this has been mentioned. Pretty much one of the best off road vehicles in the world. Here is a 57 that is ready for a little love.

Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes

Another off the beaten path 4x4. I could drive this every day.

1967 Kaiser M35A1 Bobbed Deuce and a Half. Multi Fuel Diesel Engine runs like a top. Oregon Special Interest License Plate which is permanent. PTO Winch, both front and rear axles PTO capable. Tonka Yellow paint, 52" Goodyear tires, lifted and custom reupholstered black seats with carbon fiber look.

The M35 2½-ton cargo truck is a long-lived 2½-ton 6x6 cargo truck initially used by the United States Army and subsequently utilized by many nations around the world. Over time it evolved into a family of specialized vehicles. It would not only inherit the World War II GMC CCKW's famous "Deuce and a Half" nickname but forge its own legacy.

Yep, it's a 3/4 ton W200. Here's a one ton from ebag. Note the larger rims, 17.5,? Or 18's?, But a much beefier looking truck. I love these.

Great contributions! I always say that about Timmy's dad's truck on Lassie when I see those single Budd Utiline Dodges.
