Man there is a lot of bolts in this bed and I'm not done yet, need to drill bolts at the edge of the bed and tubs.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
So once you're all done with the bed whats your plan for getting it back on the frame without damaging any of the awesome work you've done? 4-man lift, or some bed-lifting contraption?

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
It's sitting on the frame now, I use the lift to raise and lower it to get to the under side.

Ah okay. Damn I wish I had a lift . . . would have made removing the cab and bed so much easier

The bottom of the wood has 2 coats polyurethane, the wheel wells and inside of side panels has lizard skin coating.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
Craig,
Just read through the entire build. Great work and way to stay strong through the tough family issues. One thing I just read about is the AN fittings you are using to connect to the regulator. Apparently, the ones with the plastic inserts are know to fail, spraying fuel everywhere and causing fires (no bueno). They have been updates to two piece metal ones. I just returned mine and got the new style. Bad ones - Amazon.com: Russell 640853 -6 AN Male to 3/8" SAE... Good ones - Amazon.com: Russell 644123 -6AN Male to 3/8" SAE... |

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride
Thanks for the heads up Jim I appreciate it. I had to change the regulator which now has threaded connections. The only place I have the connection you showed is to the fuel rail and I already have the ones you showed for that. Thanks again,

Cool. Just making sure. I'd hate to see that beautiful ride go up in flames.

Nice, I'm using the red version of their FPR. What were you using before that prompted the change?
