Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I thought of that but I don't mind them sticking up in the window. If I do take them off the seat backs will be flush with the bottom of the window.

Your moving along quickly
I like the seats, they do look like they fit well. Do you have them bolted in? I had to make some plates for my 05 seats to fit. Tony Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
No, they're not bolted in yet but it doesn't look like it will take much work either. I'm going to reenforce the floor, drill and bolt em in. I probably won't do it any time soon. They're just sitting there so I can fit everything up around them. I'm getting my transmission on Monday evening, if it's on time, and I'll just keep them in there till I see where the stick lines up. I'm going to clean them up and put them away till I finish the the dirty work. I'll take pics and post them when I do it.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I took a couple real pics tonight instead of the usual camera phone shots. I put the steering column back in to see how much room I had and get a feel for where the wheel is going to be. I almost have to squeeze my leg under the wheel when I get in. I'll probably get a smaller diameter aftermarket wheel at some point but it will work for now. I think I'm probably going to use the stock clutch and brake pedals. I adjusted both as far back as I think they'll need to go and they're in a comfortable spot. I also got some pics of the cab seams I welded.

There's a few spots on the cab that aren't stripped down to bare metal, but not many eagle eye.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
The seats are out of an 09 Silverado standard cab. They're all manual so no electrical to deal with. I got them off ebay from a seller called gandaauto08 out of Troy, Michigan.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I love the seats. Be glad you didn't go power, mine were a NIGHTMARE. 38 wires to sort through and ended up using a total of 16 per seat.
I was going to get Silverado seats, but I wanted something a little more old man.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
"38 wires to sort through"
That's exactly what I was trying to avoid Jimmydean. I think it's the law that you can't sell seat belts after the car has been in a wreck. They didn't come with the seats and I'll have to figure something else out.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
The trans finally got here. I bolted it up and jammed it in there to see if my measurements were correct. It's exactly where I thought it would be. The tape doesn't lie. I made a shifter out of 5/8" round stock. I put it in the vice and bent it with a pipe to get the 3" offset closer to me. I flattened out one side by cutting a little with a cutting wheel to get a flat surface to mate to the shifter mount. Then I drilled and tapped the top, cut the head off a bolt and screwed on the shifter. The pic of the shifter close to the seat is in 2nd gear. It's perfect. I think I saved $50 on a shifter.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I was trying it yesterday. My tip kept filling up with metal. I gave up figured I would weld it when I flip the frame over. If you figure it out let me know.

that's actually the top of the trans hump with the shifter coming through but my pics keep loading upside down for some reason.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I could have sworn it said upside down welding thing. I was just thinking it looked pretty good for welding upside down. About 5 more minutes of looking at it I would have figured it out, maybe.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Keep tacking it when upside down??? Maybe that would work better?
