Re: Vintage picture thread
Yeah sir. 1st pic I've found of them all together. That's the reason it was stretched, has to be 2 years or less since it was stretched. Hardest working 1/2t ever.

Re: Vintage picture thread
This was my DD from early 81 until 84.
I traded it for central air in our house.

Re: Vintage picture thread
I bought that from the original owner.
When he retired in 72 he bought it new, put a fifth wheel hitch in it, and took off seeing the country. When I bought it in the fall of 1980 it had around a 100,000 miles with a new engine, transmission and the rear end whining. It just wasn't enough truck for towing that camper. I gave $1,200 for it, and he told me it had piston slap when the engine was cold and needed to be rebuilt. I put a rear end in it, and drove the blue blazes out of that thing for 4 years with not one problem. My HVAC guy lusted after it so I traded it to him because I had bought another one owner 72 Cheyenne Super.

Re: Vintage picture thread
It's a tossup for me which of your trucks (past and present) I like better. That second shot of the medium bronze truck is art.

Re: Vintage picture thread
You guys with all these great old pics make me jealous. This is the only known photo we have of my dads 70 black C20. It was taken in January of 79 the day he traded it in on a 75 1/2 ton 4x4 power wagon. It was the first vehicle l drove (at the age of 8- we lived on a farm) and have liked them ever since. In the summer of 78 (at the age of 12) l remember sitting in it with a JC Whitney catalog thinking that in 4 years I’ll have my license and I could buy this truck and customize it with some of they’re amazing accessories. Fun memories

Re: Vintage picture thread
This big block 71 was my daily driver until 1990. In the mean time I had bought another one owner 72 Cheyenne Super.

Found another one of old blue. Kinda liking the blacked out grille and headlight bezels.
Hopefully I'll have a better way to get slides processed soon.

Re: Vintage picture thread
If you are referring to the photobucket pics, that's on photobucket's policies, not on this site.

Re: Vintage picture thread
This picture was taken somewhere in southern California in early 1973.
I bought that truck new, here in Arkansas. I sold the truck in 1976, but the little cutie is still hanging with me and letting me buy 67 72 trucks.

Here I am at 6 with my Grandpa's 1970 GMC and one of our ranch helpers. 44 years later and I just brought the truck home to get her going again. Past and present.

Re: Vintage picture thread
That's really cool to see. Sometimes it's hard to imagine that these old trucks had a whole lifetime of use before they ended up with you if you don't know their history. That's the case with my truck.
