Re: 73-87 cab corner 6X9 speaker brackets - 2nd series

Finally ordered my set. I figured since the dash speakers just got updated and the stereo is getting updated, then I might as well actually mount the rear speakers instead of just letting them lay on the ground. Of course now I need new 6x9's to replace the ones that have been laying on the floor.

Re: 73-87 cab corner 6X9 speaker brackets - 2nd series

These are on the to do list but I don't want a speaker that looks like a gas stove grate. I don't want to see the speaker and some protection from tools and straps would be nice. Any suggestions?

I didn't happen to see the 6.5" option on your site. How could a few pictures and info on them?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan, they are not on my site, I only offer them in limited quantities. Same exact bracket as the 6x9, just with a round opening. Same price, $65 shipped. If you want a set, you can just send the funds via PayPal to jdrew@73-87.com

I offer them with two different opening sizes, 6" and 6.5", as the "6.5" speakers on the market have a wide range of opening sizes.

Got mine a couple of weeks ago. Great fast shipping. Just got them painted yesterday, letting them cure for a couple of days. Painted blue, Dupli color Dark Blue Met (28 WA8264)

I will be using the focal 165AS in the rear.Their spec sheet says 140mm which roughly translates to 5.6". Which, if either would work for me?

The two sizes I have are 5-7/8” and 6.5”. I’d buy the smaller ones, you should be fine. If that works, just send the funds to www.73-87.com

Your inbox I sent full, please clear it out and either send me a message, or text me at 612-558-1666

I was wrong on my opening sizes, I have 5-1/4" and 6" ( I was in DC for work and was going off memory)

I researched your speakers, the mounting diameter is right at 6", so you would need to buy the smaller 5.25" and enlarge to 5-9/16"

Again, PM or text so we can coordinate this.

Re: 73-87 cab corner 6X9 speaker brackets - 2nd series

Hi Jeff
Just wondering how much room there is between the shelf below the bracket, and the base of the bracket?
My dilemma is, I have the original cardboard tray and I'm trying to see from the pics if there's enough room for both.
The tray side is about 3" tall.
I may need to do some trimming?!
Thanks in advance
Conrad

Hi Conrad, I’ll get you a measurement tonight. I do believe you will need to do some minor trimming to make the tray fit.
