well i worked on the chevy trying to get rid of my mufflers so i can get some different ones

and i built a tranny crossmember out of 3/8 flat bar and im going to gusset it tomorrow
i think it looks pretty good if i had welded it prettier
ill post up some pics tomorrow
my brand new energy suspension tranny mount already broke (cheap made crap!!!!)

has anyone cut holes out of there trailing arm crossmember and welded pipe in it for the exhaust to go through
im planning on doing this soon
just wanted to know the best way to do it

4" bimetal holesaw Go to the metel store and have them slice you 2 1" pieces of 4 tube weld in done. I've got pics on my thread

Cut a hole in a piece of plywood you can clamp to the area your wanting to cut to keep the saw centered. and from wondering.

well i got the holes cut but im out of argon so ill have to wait to put the pipe in
still tryin to sell my mufflers with no luck
dont ever try to cut the hole with a hole saw in between th framerails and trailing arms that sucks when you destroy your hand

so true it also helps when the hole saw is sharp but after the first hole was cutting the second one was a *****
maybe i was using a wood holesaw
i cant tell the difference

Most will cut metal. Its says bimetal on the blade. Just go slow helps if the drill has a handle.
