Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I picked up this original gm locking gas cap and am going to add it to my truck. I bought a repo one first and it didn't line up straight. Now I'm scared that when I buy a new tank from spectra that the cap won't be square when on all the way.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Got 2 Nos floor mats for my 67 and sold one and keeping the other for this build. These fit nice in trucks with the low hump. The only thing that bugs me about these is I wish they made them with "GM" on them instead of a bowtie. The only bowtie that will be on the truck. This one has some wrinkles in it from being packaged poorly in the original box but the other one I have is nice and smooth. They match the vinyl on the inner seat and dash pad perfect too!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I have a pair of 4" fog lamps from a 1957 cadillac. They are perfect for the front bumper on my truck. I'm going to use a pull switch where the choke delete plate goes. Here is the switch used and picture of the lights. I used a cadillac switch bezel so it will look the same as my headlight and wiper bezels. Now to make holes in the bumper.

I'm going to take this piece and see if I can have it duplicated with the words FOG on it.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I got a neutral safety switch from a 1966 cadillac with the vacuum ports on the back. This will run directly from engine vacuum and only let's vacuum Thru in the drive gears. This will trigger a electric vacuum switch that will only let power to the fog lights in the drive gears. I also am going to power the pull switch from the headlight switch so the fog lights can only be activated when the headlight switch is in park or headlight positions and the engine must be running. All my lights will be run off relays now. That's the one unera mod I'm doing because the headlights are much brighter and takes the load off the switch.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I won't even have to get power from the headlight switch. I got a switch with vacuum ports on it and when you pull it out vacuum can pass thru. I'll just put this switch before the neutral vacuum switch. When the lights are on vacuum will pas to the neutral safety switch. When it's in gear vacuum will pass to the electrical switch where power will turn on the lights.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Hey, Rod, that vacuum switch will do something else..... the fog lights will turn off when you put your foot into it to pass another vehicle at night.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Yeah I am trying to find a check valve so it will keep vacuum when it drops or use vacuum from the canister. The nss will loose vacuum though when taken out of gear. Still working on it. Or Maby I'm just over thinking this and will just operate it with the switch.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
What do you think guys. Closer in to the guards or farther to the outer part of the bumper?

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I found a metal interior done light in the auto wreckers nearby in an international truck. I always hated the plastic ones and had no idea metal ones were out there. I had it re-chromed and now it will screw in and no more broken plastic clips!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
So, you are saying that the dome light is the same in the International trucks, as it is the Chevy's? What year are we talking, in the Internationals, if so?

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I have no idea what year but it was later 50's early 60's I would think. It was picked clean except the cab. It was a big 1 ton style. The guy at the desk told me it was an international.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Here is what the fog lights would look like if I choose to add them. I also ordered new glass lenses for them. They look nice.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I made a change on the column levers. I moved the cruise control button to the end of the tilt lever. I tried to move it to the signal but not sure if that's possable. I did this so I can use the spot on the gear selection lever to turn on and off the gear vendors Overdrive unit I'm going to purchase for this truck.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Purchased some original repo spring ring battery cables for the truck. Also found these Nos cable covers for them. Never seen these covers before. I also bought a new battery that appears like the original. Not much else is going to happen on the truck for a while. Time for a break.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Here are the 2 switches I'm using on the right side of my cluster. The bottom one is a pull switch for my fog lights and the top is a 2 pole left right switch that will turn my gear vendors from automatically shifting to manual gear splitting . When turned to manual you will use the button on the shift lever to go in and out of the gears. I an having the placards for the fog and o/d made on a cnc machine and adding them to my choke delete cluster so they will look like the wipers and lights on the left side.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I really wanted power door locks to work like they should and I fought with this for a long time. This week I decided I wanted a different style door catch. I got these out of a 66 gm 2 door car. They work nice. They have the optional vacuum operated power door locks which I will add to my truck as well. I will like this much better that my locks won't pop up every time I close my door. Switches match the window style too!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I added the light at the bottom of the door as well. Needs More work but it will work just as intended and add as more water drainage. This light will light up the lock cylinder as well.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I got some decals back today I had a local shop make for me. I had a GM decal made for the front of the thermometer face. Now I have GMC and GM to choose from. I also had one made for my 67 th400 transmission ID tag.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Transmission is all rebuilt and ready to go. Not sure if I am going to paint it or just leave it as is. I will paint all the metal parts and the pan black and put all the plated bolts on it. The more I read about people having vibrations with shorter drive shafts I am not 100% sure I'm going to go gear vendors.
