Re: Any other projects in your garage?

My son showed up with his 1960 Galaxie today, showing off his new mags (15x7 all around), Sun retro Tach and new Moon Steering wheel. Apparently Mooneyes found a new manufacturer for their classic steering wheels and the chrome quality is better than any I have ever seen. Even the backside is polished. He painted the mag spokes graphite gray. The TTO's come bare aluminum and look odd to me without some color on the spokes:

The 4X4 S10 Blazer front axle appears wider than the rear, if you profile the vehicle it looks like the front wheels and tires stick out a little more than the rears and the rears always look to narrow in the wheelwell. I'm using 1/4 wheel spacers on the rear now to even the look. The factory wheels are 15 X 7 with a 6" backspace so with the Vette Rallyes being 8" wide I had the fronts made with that backspace which will place wheel and tire 1" further out in wheelwell and the back with 5" backspace which will place them 2" out further. Should look good!

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

nope. I rode the middle one when it was brand new, all over hell and creation and even on the highway to the next town for (what else) some female companionship. I bought the one without a rear wheel as a parts bike for the middle one and got the red one as a package deal. After clunking around in the garage for 8 years I decided professional help is needed.

glos55 thats cool you understand the backspacing, most guys dont

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

This belongs to my machine shop buddy. He had his brother paint it, now I am assembling it(altho I did not disassemble it, LOL)
1968 AMC Rambler original 6 cyl(out being rebuilt, w/ Flash-o-matuc 2 speed auto) Factory air.
We repainted the engine bay black and undercoated front fenders. Removed the dash assembly, repaiting everything and I am recovering the original dash pad, since no replacements exsist.
It'll be a frustrating project, since we did not take it apart and there's a lot of small parts missing.

Note to anyone who has help taking a project apart- DO NOT piss them off- you'll never find all your parts again! LOL!

Re: Any other projects in your garage?

A little something I have been putting together for the last couple years as time and money come around. What is it-

81 VW Rabbit Pickup
3.5" Body Drop
2.0L with solid lifter head and custom triple carb intake manifold
Flat Floored
Bomber Bench
Split Window VW Bus dash

An idea of how low it is when it is laid out. I am only 5'10" LOL
