I know nothing about bags, but that looked good when you were airing it out in the video.

Re: AD Truck Project

Congrats on getting your truck out of the garage Billy. It looks like you hit the wheel base right on. Looking forward to seeing more updates.

Re: AD Truck Project

Thanks guys. It was nice to have an update that involved parts going back on lol. I was really worried about the wheelbase, but it worked out.

I rolled it out today and took out the seat frame, gas tank, and stripped the head liner out of it. There was not as much pooh as I expected which was nice. Also, I was dreading that I might find more cat bones in there, but there was not any. Just a mouse or rat skull lol. The tire I put on the passenger side rear didn't hold air, which of course it is up against a wall when in the garage. So, I swapped that tire today for one that was good. I also removed the broken rear window and the dry rotted window seal.

It will probably be the weekend before I get to mess with it anymore. But, when I do I think I will clean in the cab more, try to get the stock gauges out, and see about mocking up the steering column.

Re: AD Truck Project

I got a little work done. Last week I got the truck turned around, with some help from my neighbor and a random guy riding by on a bicycle. Sunday I wanted to start taking the fenders off the rear. I started by breaking every bolt I touched. Then I found out some of the bolts were between the rotted wood floor and the steel floor someone welded over the top of it. After some air chisel and sawzall love, I got it out. I put the rolled up metal on the curb and my friendly neighbor hood metal scrappers had already took it this morning.

Btw if anyone wants that bumper they can have it. It says Curtis Raborn Chevy, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on it.

Re: AD Truck Project

truck is looking good for sure. Can't wait to see it done. what are the plans for the rear? Triangulated 4 link or parallel? what rear end you using? Pardon if it was already mentioned.

love the old gauges. holler at me if you aren't using them. I quite a few sets.

Re: AD Truck Project

We got most of the old shop moved out to the shop mom had built. I have some major garage envy.

I tried to gather up all the parts for my dad 52 sedan so we could know what we have and what we may need down the road.

Re: AD Truck Project

It is nice, like 30 x 40 with a wide tall door.

I wish I had it, I got hail damage on my crew cab last night.

Re: AD Truck Project

How hard is it to prep mirrors, handles and front bumper cover for color matching?

Re: AD Truck Project

Not bad at all really its the primering a million times and sanding them smooth is what sucks

I did the whole inside of a Subaru WRX and painted the inside to match the car.

Re: AD Truck Project

Things have been busy so there has been no more progress. But I will let the cat out of the bag about previous progress. With the help of Scott I got a running 94 gmc tbi 350, trans, harness, ecu, etc that will be going in the 52.

Re: AD Truck Project

those always look like Medusa to me, I'm to old to figure all that out, just give me a fuel line and hot wire to the coil! Should be a nice upgrade, I am thinking about an aftermarket FI in the long future for mine.

Re: AD Truck Project

I wanted fuel injection, because I want to daily drive this truck and maybe hit up some small shows around the state. I looked at the the holley efi system and for the much less I got my whole drivetrain. It will be some work, but I am using the whole harness out of the truck. I need to stop doing other hobbies and get the frame buttoned up and start on the drivetrain.

Re: AD Truck Project

We need to get measurements on the air box to see if it will set under your dash enough to use the heater and Ac stuff also.

Re: AD Truck Project

Sunday, I am hoping to make some time and see what it will take to remove the bed off the truck. I got the daily driver insurance stuff taken care of and tomorrow the house gets inspected after the hail storm.

Re: AD Truck Project

Sweet ! TBI is great for reliable cruizin'. Should be pretty quick in that old lightweight truck too, much lighter than my 93 anyway. I just went over 200k on my '93 GMC. 75mph 50 miles a day.....

Re: AD Truck Project

I worked yesterday on removing the bed. It is amazing how so few bolts can take up so much time. I thought I had them all removed but I could not get the bed to come off. So, either I have missed some more bolts or maybe the bed sills are rusted to the frame. Not real sure.
