Not exactly patina, but loved the "history" shown on this old beauty from The Daytona Beach Turkey Run a few years back. Nicely done.

Re: Post your patina trucks!!!!!! Real or fake post your weathered beauties!

I had no idea there was a thread dedicated to this or I would’ve posted earlier. This is my 68 c10 I got last year. Its all original patina except for the tailgate, it was replaced at some point and fauxtina’d. She even has her original dealer bumper. She has 75,000 original miles on her, 307, 4-speed, 12 bolt 4.11 rear end. I think I’m going to CLR her in a week or so, the rust seems to be progressing some in the humid West Virginia air.

Re: Post your patina trucks!!!!!! Real or fake post your weathered beauties!

I gave Ole Blue a CLR bath. And had my dad repaint the bumper to get rid of the black stripe on top, I had him do some fade to match the rest of the truck. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Some before and after pics, and one of the bumper:

So what do you do to keep the rust from coming back?
I'm not a patina expert, not sure I want to be...LOL
I figured maybe some wax or something. I hate seeing the rust and old paint that have a thick coat of shiny clear sprayed over them....

I most definitely will never clear it, I think that’s ridiculous too. I am considering waxing it.
I’m not sure it would ever even really progress much being garage kept. It took almost 50 years outside to do that to it. What gets taken off by the CLR is actually mostly just rust stains on the paint. The paint loses its glaze and becomes porous and it allows the rust to stain the paint from what I understand.

Thanks, the guy who owns it told me that he is going to have it all concreted or black topped and have a Coca-Cola machine out and some other goodies sitting out in a couple weeks. I’m excited to go back once he gets that done and take some more. He also said it all lights up including the big gulf sign so I’d like to get some pictures at night.

That is just too cool! I'd like something like that with some big inch engine to use for towing my travel trailer. Then my current truck would be just a pickup.
