Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Patina is alright but to most people it is just in need of a paint job, the grill looks nice though, good job.

Thanks. Yeah, I remember when I used to think that too. Now, I just have more money left for other upgrades

Yeah, Mud.

Mine *definitely* needs paint. But it's not in the cards for me right now....So, I'm gonna do some body work (she's pretty straight already),
and maybe go with some satin black out of my $60 gun in the spring.

Maybe some day, that black cherry paint (Bordeaux Mica Pearl - 3P2 aka Black Cherry Pearl; 01-05 Lexus GS) will magically appear.
Anybody know Chip Foose?

Since nobody from the show is likely to knock on my front gate, instead, I just might design a white-letter logo for the doors to put
over the satin.

Hummmm...maybe I'll work on that now....

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I also have to agree, my 67 Acadian is the first thing in a very long time with quality paint, the last few trucks had the same semi gloss black, here's a few pic's, still cool but not quality.

Lots spent on quantity instead.

Yeah. It's a TEKSTYLE

I don't know if they sell the whole set up, but I've gotten snaps and they have other TEKSTYLE parts here:

Thumbs up Re: Vintage Speakers

THANK YOU ! .

My stereo rado is dying and I now have almost everything necessary for the stock AM radio so I'l get one of these .

I remember the stock AM radios being just fine when these trucks were new ~ mostly I listen to the news, weather & traffic anyway .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

finished up my ps box install and mounted my $10 jy 1 1/4 sway bar check them frame brackets for some reason they are much lower than the ones i put on the kids truck.
i called the local advance to get some bushing and they told me they had them there I specificly asked three times "1 1/4 right" oh yhea he says two sets I drive the 1/2 hr and of course they were NOT 1 1/4...any way the autozone down the street they had greasable energy suspention bushings on the rack they'll work for me.

also bought a new rag joint only to get home too find out....its the wrong size splined shaft hole

I've about had it with that store I've came home with more wrong parts than right parts from them. sorry for the rant...heres a pic

ps. that grease they provide is some sticky stuff look at all the finger prints

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Put rebuilt carb on, pulled the seat and gas tank and dumped the 5+ year old gas out. The gas looked and smelled more like diesel than gasoline. Hope to get it back together and try to start it next weekend.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Yesterday took advantage of the unseasonable weather to paint my new steelies glossy white and install the new (and newly painted) script valve cover.

Today, put fresh fluids in the new I6 and working on hooking up the carb linkages and fuel supply from pump to carburetor. After that I have to hang the new exhaust and the drivetrain work is done. I think.

On to body and bed floor after that.
