Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Not an original cab for a 72, as the rear view is mounted to the roof. Still a very nice truck.

In my 72 Cheyenne Super of yesteryears the mirror fell off the windshield one to many times so I finally went to the wrecking yard and got a roof mount bracket with the correct color cover and installed it, it never fell off again.

I would say because of the screw below the wind wing (72 only) that this could be the same scenario.

Ditto. I have a 71 style mirror mounted to the roof of my 72.

Yes in the early years of gluing the mirrors to the windshields the glue was not really the best match for the summer sun and rough roads.

If you live in Kalifornia we have lot's of sun and 100% rough roads.

California is 3rd in the nation for the worst roads. Kind of strange given how nice the climate is. Then again, not so strange because most of the sales tax levied on fuels as a temporary measure in '73 didn't get spent on the roads.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

That truck was originally white top only and, as for emblems, it should have CustomCamper20 emblems on the fenders rather than the Custom20 ones currently installed.

I thought trucks with Z84 Custom Sport Truck line on the SPID would have either Cheyenne or Cheyenne Super emblems.

I thought the customcamper/ emblems were a 69-70 thing? Wouldn't the one in question have a Cheyenne/20 emblem?

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

The blue truck in question should have had a CustomCamper/20 fender emblem.
The Z81 option emblem was used through 71, and it was the fender emblem you got no matter what trim level it was.

In 72 that stopped and the Custom Camper name plate was above the door handles

So if that truck was a 72 it would have custom camper above the door handles and Cheyenne on the fender?

The hugger orange has been for sale for a few months I believe. It popped up after I pulled the trigger prior to me buying one That’s coming from Oregon. I remember is because it’s a pic of a cap I sent the seller to see if he could find one.

Seems like a Good deal to me.
