How can you tell the fenders are from 69-70?

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
It's not a guarantee, but the 69-70 location of the engine callout is a tipoff (i.e. under the Custom/10 and centered). 71-72 would have had it located under the turn signal marker light and the only row two emblems in 71-72 were Deluxe or Super, and they were (normally) left justified. Seems quite often folks will use earlier fenders on a 71/72, nothing wrong with that, but it's a lot of extra work to not just drill, but also move some mounting holes (i.e. fill some in that would be in the wrong place). The lack of holes under the turn signal marker are also a clue - it's not likely those were filled - they would only be absent if the truck came with a base engine. The doors are also likely 69-70 as well due to the mirror base used. Janesville built trucks did sometimes center the row two emblems in 71-72, so that's why I say it's not a guarantee - but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say, in this truck's case, they just left this fender like it was with the engine callout where it was born. I guess it's possible the entire cab and front end and doors are 69-70.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Too cool not to post. Not mine! 67 shorty $9000.
https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/...780766770.html This is a Kool little van and ready to ride. This has been cleaned from the bottom to the top and had several things done to it. The paint is about 5 years old and the van has been garaged since it was painted. It has a brand new wiring harness throughout the entire van, new aluminum radiator that keeps it running cool. All the hinges were replaced which is not a cheap expense due to the pins not being available any longer. The front seats and middle seat are freshly covered. The middle seat pops out so you can haul bikes or put an air mattress in there and camp. The Stereo system is ridiculous and comes with a mobile power inverter. This basically was installed so if I ever needed to run my DJ equipment out in the middle of a field off the battery of the van, I could. It also has the cable installed for a Monitor to be installed. This thing fires up and runs and most everything works. I have the rear bumper that we shortened but just didn't finish and install. The back of the van has the hard wood floor look and there is absolutely no RUST anywhere on this van. All the windows have been tinted. Yes.....your not seeing things.....I added the rare ford trim down the sides to make this baby unique and it has a sweet roof rack as well. This is a three on the tree and when I had the clutch job done they professionally synced the transmission so the shifting is really smooth. All the seals around the windows are brand new. The Rims and Tires are SWEEEEEET and I had the front springs professionally straightened and lowered the back end. Comes with clean title. If you pay the asking price, I will throw in four pop out windows that are very rare and hard to find for these vans. The only reason I'm selling this is because I just picked up another 62 Ford Van that is not as nice, but fits my style better. Opportunities- "NOT MUCH" 1. There is a scratch that you can see in the picture with the driver door that needs touched up. It's about a foot long. 2. The Stereo is an Alpine but the face plate is acting up......needs new player but this one will get you by 3. We installed a sunroof from a Volvo, but the thing kept hitting me in the head so we removed. So permanent sun roof right now. I was just going to have a piece of glass made that would fit up their and seal off the hole. 4. I purchased this van out of a field about 7 years ago and the motor fired right up. I've been driving this thing between Seattle and Eugene for DJ gigs since, but prior to that the motor sat for 20 years. So this thing could use a fresher. I believe it's the original 230 or 235, but I also have a 250 that I broke down to start having machined, complete motor that comes with if you want to have it finished and dropped into the van. This thing has no issues running, but it does smoke a little. Just normal signs of a tired motor. Here is a fact because sometimes trying to be honest about what this thing could use translates to others as an opportunity for ridiculous offers. I WOULD DRIVE THIS VAN TO L.A. and back today with no concerns. Freahing up the motor does not indicate that anything has to be done to it right now or this thing is junk. Maybe being transparent and an honest seller is not always the best option...but it's the one I will always chose.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Several ways to do it, but the first step is always right clicking on the long web address for the ad you're looking at - this will normally highlight the whole address (if it doesn't, then you'll need to do it manually. if you left click in there, it should highlight it also, but the dialog box won't pop up) - then either select "copy" from the dialog box that should have popped up when you right clicked and highlighted the address - or - just type Ctrl+C together (does the same thing). The address is now stored in memory for you to paste somewhere else.
Then, when you're back in this forum typing in the info about the ad, you can either: Just right click in the entry box where you want to put it and select Paste or just have your cursor where you want it in the entry box and type Ctrl+V together. Either of the above two methods will past the whole long address as a link, but that's just fine. If you are in the advanced dialog box entry (i.e. clicked "go advanced" or selected "Post Reply" to begin with (not quick reply) - HIGHLIGHT the text you want to become a hyperlink (left mouse and drag over what you want to be the link, i.e. underlined blue text), click on the little (world with a chain link) icon, and past the address you copied into the address box that comes up. Hope that helps. I looked for the truck you mentioned and couldn't find it, so would love to see it if you get a chance. Thanks for sharing! |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
69 swb with lots done. $21500. Not mine!
https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/...783647169.html Beautifully restored 1969 Chevy C-10 SWB. Full older frame off restoration was done on this super clean little short wide. It is powered by a custom painted and detailed Corvette Tuned Port Injected motor backed by a 700R4 transmission spinning 4:11 gears in a Ford 9 inch rear end. The truck rides on Torqthrust 20x10 and 18x8 wheels wrapped in Dunlop rubber and suspended by a full Bell Tech suspension with a 4-3 drop, front and rear sway bars and a rear panhard bar. A full power front disc brake and rear drum set up was installed as well. The body is laser straight and rust free. There have been several subtle mods done like relocating the fuel tank to the rear with a Blazer tank and putting in a quick fill in the rear wheel well while the stock location was filled along with the bed pockets. A 68 front end was installed and the tailgate was smoothed and the handle relocated to the inside under the fiberglass hard tonneau cover on gas shocks. The interior received a full Painless wiring kit as well as being fully painted top to bottom and under the dash. Sound deadening material was installed along with a later Chevy 60/40 bench. A tilt wheel and Barry Grant steering wheel finish it off. This truck has always been garage kept and I just installed new fuel injectors and Flowmaster Hushpower exhaust that sound amazing. Please feel free to email any questions you may have.
