How was the ease of installation? Did you get the 50 mil or 80 mil? What did you apply this over? Paint, Primer, undercoating? Did it stick well or did you have to use an extra type of glue? Sorry for all the questions but I'm considering the same stuff. Your looks great you did a great job installing it!

I used the 80 mil stuff, it was a painted cab. I used heat gun to help it conform to the tuff spots. Just makes sure the metal is warm or at room temp anyway,I was in short sleeve shirt. I ran my wood stove in the shop for a few hours before starting. It stuck really good and to me the more I laid in the better I got at it, plus the aluminum tape to cover the seams. I highly recommned it though as you can just used your hands to tap the metal and hear the difference it makes.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Did you find a good place to purchase it? I see it on Amazon for about 200 for 100 sq feet of 80 mil.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Amazon is where I bought mine but unless you plan on doubling up in spots 100 sg ft is over kill. I ordered 36 sq ft first as I did not know how much it took and then ordered another 25 sq ft and I have enough left over to do inside the doors also. I went from the top of the firewall to behind the gas tank.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I replaced my leaky Rochester with a freshly rebuilt Edelbrock 1406 on my 350. Also changed the worn out throttle linkage rod, fuel filter, and freshened up the hoses.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

The sun's out today in the Sierra Foothills.

So, I:

1) Went out to look at the truck;
2) Opened the tailgate;
3) Inspected and then broke up the old windshield;
4) Pulled out the back of an old bench seat and stashed it;
5) Closed the tailgate.

Other than moving the cover, the truck-travelling tool box, the new fan dedicated to the A/C, and a cheap tarp,
I'm ready to start on the bed...That bed hasn't been empty for three years.

I learned that it's harder to break up a windshield than the side windows. Cost me almost an hour picking
up glass shards off of the driveway. Even after I'd wrapped the SOB in towels, etc. before the hammer went to work.
Oh, BTW, the windshield under the windshield-cover's the new one. The ol', pitted one's in the garbage can!!!

When the weather turns for sure, the bed's gonna get power-washed, the wheel wells removed, and stripped of bed liner
material. With the the remainder of the bed, they will get prepped and painted the same color as the interior and engine
bay sheet metal. Then I'll put wood down on the bed floor. Seems sort-a silly on the rat mobile, but I have all the stuff
so I might as well do it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Ordered the 5th 6th gear cluster for the T-56 transmission and installed the new KYB rear shocks. Still waitng on the re-drilled axles to get back. I hope by the time they are back I will have the new studs and rear hubs so I can finish up the rear end.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Started to install my power steering setup I bought several months ago. Changing the motor mounts at the same time. Of course the mounts were bad and then wouldn't line up correctly. I see now why people woller out the holes in the enging braces. I finally got the driver side done. Didn't have enough time to get the passenger side mount or the rest of the power steering setup done but I did get the pump mounted. Hopefully we will have another warm dry day around here soon.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got my Accuair stuff bolted up into the EXO mount. Ive decided im going to mount it on the drivers side frame rail behind the cab. The EXO mount is pretty cool and keeps everything neat and organized. I dont have a fancy welder or much of any fab experience so my air ride install needs to be as "bolt on" as possible and this makes that happen.
