Good on ya man, I was out today for a couple 100 miles, gave the engine a shake down and it's nice when they run when you want them to.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Sold her! Sad day indeed... A truck junkie (the mechanic whose been working on her for me) bought her about 10 days ago. When I told him I had to relocate to Connecticut. He begged me to sell and keep "Long-Green" my C10 from the bad winters and salty roads, and offered a very good price. Not my intention, but when the local PA job went away, I knew I couldn't keep all my toys.

Out for run today and stopped in to Grant Shwartz that was on Vegas rat rods. He's got a shop here in Ontario just over a half hour away. Super guy and great fabricator.

Nothing big but I fixed my exhaust leak at the flange. The flange had cracked so I welded it up. I stuck a small bolt in the crack to fill it up .
No more leak are loudness!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Got the new Cold Case radiator delivered today. I was at the care facility where my MiL is for rehab after falling last Tuesday, so one of my sons brought it into the house. He'll be the one putting it in with "parental supervision", because I still have "candy hands" after carpal tunnel surgery, over a year ago.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Put in a new axle in the 67 GMC over the weekend. Took out the old 12 bolt with a bad pinion bearing and replaced it with a 14 bolt, 6 lug, 3/4 ton axle from a 91 chevy. No more grinding noise! yay! New headlights with led halos from Octane lighting just showed up the other day that will be installed shortly. So then I can actually see at night.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Hi, I chased a nasty miss on the “new” crate motor, now with 7k miles. I replaced the hei cap and rotor, pulled the carb, completely dissassembled it and cleaned it. I didnt find the issue until I pulled the plugs and found #6 fouled terribly. Yikes. The wire had been rubbing on the dipstick tube and sure enough there was gray “tracks” on the tube.
I replaced the wires and 8 fresh R45TS plugs and that wire. Now she runs on all 8 and goes like the wind....
Day well spent!

Tom

Replaced the trans cooler lines. Po used gas line to fix rusted areas. Needless to say it turned to a mushy black piece of penne pasta like consistancy. All new steel with the proper oil cooler hose.
