Looks great. Got to love the phase where you get to put stuff BACK together rather than tearing apart and cutting, welding, grinding, and so on..

^^^^ Amen.....but if u dont fab it all up 1st....u mess up more than u fix.....ask M.L. (67 Cheby) how many changes he made before he got it together....that's the "cruel" part of doing your own build on your own time is that things change and yours is "old" before it ever hits the road...So I try thinking out of the box ...to a point anyway!!!

Looks killer! I really like the bed mounts and the "holy" close outs.

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"

Ok guys....here's the frenched panel I've been wanting to debut....always hated the way most just leave this 8" section behind tailgate either flat paneled or open on raised bed trucks....Have had this idea in my head for years.....may have been done by someone but i haven't seen it.....see what u think and it is pre-made by the way....well sort of!!....jim

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"

Here's a shot with all braces installed...the top of that rear panel is same as cross brace turned up..then 1" angle welded to backside for floor support...the new panel is bolted in to it and the lower cross sill....notice the little rounded cuts at ends of upper cross sill....for tailgate rib clearance.....
