Re: Wife's 48

16 months in upholstery, sheesh. I would have been darkening his door and standing over him every day after 3 months.

they look great though

Re: Wife's 48

Tempest, thank you, and yes they are 60/40 from a mid 90's.

Joe, I would have been more aggressive on the seats, I'm not really known for patience, but I didn't have the truck even being painted, so it wasn't an issue. Now that I have a professional painter to paint the truck, I am going to be more involved.

Re: Wife's 48

I used the 60/40 as well and love em.

My wife is 5'2" and I'm 6'2", so I am comfortable when she drives.

Fox, look at how long I've taken to get this far! You will do better, everyone does.

Tempest, I know your pain.

yes they do, Top Tip: make sure you always carry a flat screw driver (pointy end up) in your back pocket when doing so, ask me how I know

Tempest, I've planned to go by about 3 times a week, just to let them know I care.

Joe, compared to the last year, yeah baby!

Re: Wife's 48

Finally! After another 6 weeks in body work, and more money than I care to admit, WE ARE IN PAINT!

First he started with black sealer as the undercoat.
IMG_0865 by Robert Moorman, on Flickr

Once that cured for a bit he started on color on the underside of the hood, inside of both doors and the tailgate. Here is the color.
IMG_0867 by Robert Moorman, on Flickr

This is after one coat, there will be three and a clear.

They should have the cab and doors done by Thursday and I'll start bringing parts home. I have a roll of stick on plastic to cover them to try and help keep me from scuffing the parts as I put it together.

This is a good day.

Ha ha, funny guy!

I will go over there this afternoon to "help" put the doors back on the cab, which we got back on the frame last week.

Thanks Jan. It was 2 years getting here, and 2 painters, so I'm stoked.

Re: Wife's 48

Ok, after the longest wait ever, I am making progress.

IMG_0901 by Robert Moorman, on Flickr
I'll have the cab on the frame by Friday, so I'll have that update after it is set.

Got the hood back today.
IMG_0911 by Robert Moorman, on Flickr
It has some dust and white buffing compound on it, but Laura LOVES the color!

I have a garage full of painted parts, all sitting on packing blankets and covered with same. I should get the all the little parts next week and then it'll be assembly time!

Today is a good day.

Re: Wife's 48

Thank you.

Friday is the cab on frame and putting the Steele rubbers on the doors.

I've recently heard that that can be daunting or some kind of PITA. If it goes well the doors will be on the cab next week and then it'll be all fun after that, right????
