Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
Thanks forest. I always tell people when they ask how I chose it; "I wanted it to look like a toy car". Its sorta what I thought a hotwheels truck would be, just full size, and lil less plastic

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
I'm always checking up on this build and i'm not sure if it makes me glad or sad seeing the build progress. Sad because i haven't done anything to my truck in like a year.
sounds good with the new exhaust |

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
Hahah, I hear that man! This last summer was a slow summer (ya know, tubbing the firewall, new heads....slow year). We've got my build and the WS6 getting worked on for this spring now as well.
I need a new converter, to dial in my rear suspension, and then we're probably gonna hit it with a kit or two of happy-juice and see if I can run 10's before getting booted.

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
Found out last night that I have to try and get a minitub, 8point cage, ford 9, and a full suspension package done on the "other" ride before June.... at least one magazine feature, and trying to run 2-3 more major events then...
...and that doesn't count redoing the n20 setup, and deciding if we're running one of the two big blowers we've got, or waiting until the other other motor is built for the future setup.... And thats not counting any of the stuff on the truck for this year; changing up the converter setup, redoing the rear suspension and breaking package entirely, building the "aero" for it, and possibly setting up another new intake package with some built in happy juice. And whatever happens with the new daily. I am tired from even typing this...

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
Thank You Rev J for your input on the immediate threat to "Hot-Rodding" via this 1 bill by the EPA. However this is just a small token of the subject matter that Im sure you could have SO MUCH MORE INPUT on....
I offer you and your viewers this video (sorry for the thread jack) that covers the MANY problems with the EPA and the DISASTER they are causing to this country that far outweighs just the bill mentioned above. Its long but it touches on so many of Americas Problems that need to be KNOWN by ALL OF US.... It has become a critical time and WE are actually fighting for OUR LIVES against this rogue Government Bureaucracy that is literally going to destroy THIS county in FAVOR OF OTHERS through their regulation. http://youtu.be/nlHbmTGjBpk

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
I was over at my old mans garage the other day to take care of a few things over there. He ended up rolling home with an old bike since he was looking for a small spring project. He's had about 200 bikes come and go over the years and occasionally still picks one up to do.
Its a 79 Yamaha it400. Single cylinder two stroke. Found it way up north in WI, you don't see as many of these floating around anymore. This one was in incredibly good shape. All the plastics are near perfect, has all the side covers and snorkel for the air box, even had its original trail bag and owners manual. Only grabbed this pic at first. I have a few more. We'll be restoring a few things and I'm sure he'll end up selling it sooner than later. Also had a neighbor drop off a KX frame to have some gusseting done.

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
Copy and paste killed me. The second frame is the Kawasaki KZ, the bike itself is the Yamaha (as if the big yellow Yamaha sticker didn't stare me right in the face lol).

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
It was nice as heck today, so I had to hit the garage!
I picked up some carbon fiber panel courtesy of the guys at Protoype Composites in Glendale WI. Its around 1.5mm sheet, finished on one side like most CF is sold. I decided I wanted to build some exhaust-exit shields for my side exit, and the CF seemed perfect for doing it. I started off by measuring my exit and the margins I had to work with. A little photoshopping mocked up a shape I liked, and I could print it out as a template. I reinforced the template and transferred its shape to the carbon plate. A dremel did most of the cutting work, but used up a few discs if you tried to cut too aggressively. Overall it cut pretty well, and I could then layout the screw holes and drill those out. (one partially finished on the upper right) I used a powerdrill as a drum sander (I'll post more on this), and finished any uneven areas on the internal hole or the radius'd corners. Then I switched to some 600-ish grit wet paper and smoothed/rolled any sharp edges for a finished look. Only problem I really had physically was the screw holes blowing out a bit. I have a few ideas to solve that, but I'll just carefully spot sand them...most of the area is hidden under the hardware anyway. I've already got the hardware so I just need to touch these up, drill the truck-side to match, and finish assembly. Should have that up in a day or so when I get back over to it...and of course FULL VIDEO ON THE PROJECT WILL BE COMING SOON! You should be subscribed and checking Rev J HD for all this content! Oh, and clearly respirators aren't for bearded customizers.

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
Test fitting the exits. Driver side is good to go, but I want to champfer the upper lip a bit to match with the body seam before final install. Video is done being shot tho! So that will be on the channel soon.

Re: Br3w City's Project omgwtfbbq
A little more time in the garage this weekend. Ended up going to work on a badass procharged C6 (I'll be putting up some video on that beast. If you follow me on Instagram @REV_J_HD you'll have sneaked a peak already!) Been working on a bunch of catch can tech posts, doing my mods and install on my can, some brake changes, and more random stuff.
Ended up having a quick thought about my fuel sending unit...and a few minutes later I started pulling the bed out hahah. I gotta vent the fuel cell better, and have been considering switching to a FuelMat instead of the tank foam. Since the bedfloor will be out, I want to lighten its braces and a few areas, build a subfloor for it and go to an aluminum floor skin. This stuff always escalates.....
