Cool, no more 307. The 350....yes! I think color choice might be the toughest part of the project. the body lines of these trucks make them look good wearing almost any color. nice progress by the way.

Nice upgrade on the drivetrain, much better than the 307. I had a hard time settling on a color too so I just decided to paint mine red cause it is my favorite color. Good luck on the paint choice.

Can't go wrong with Red, it's called resale red for a reason lol. That BMW red is a really nice color. I'm painting mine Viper Red.

Definitely planning to prep it on the stand first. Should I paint before or after we look at it? I am going to paint with the old stuff on then remove for the shiny parts

350 is a + but I would of left the 3spd in (sticks are more fun to drive) A nice Pearl Blue would look good.

I like a manual as well but the sale was a package deal. Plus, most people that did inquire about the truck wanted me to put in an auto. And the auto I have was mated to this engine and I know they run well
Plus, until I sell it, it will be more fun to drive for me. 6'2" with long legs = knees in the wheel when I shift

Sounds like a good idea. I need to get slotted in your schedule soon so I can drop this in to drive over to the shop in a couple weeks if that doesn't work, I totally understand and will figure out what I can

A couple of weeks is plenty. Now that I have the new truck running good I've pulled the tank to get dipped and I'm waiting on the Brown truck for other parts so I have some down time. Lets talk tomorrow after Momma's Day winds down. Meanwhile, pour something slick in the cylinders, let it sit for a while and then rotate it a coupla times. I assume you have a carb and dizzy already. I'd like to run it on the stand!

Nice to see the 307 go away I think it would have been a detraction from the truck vs. a good running 350.

I say 69 Chevy Garnet Red. Great color that gets red lovers pulled in and gets those buyers who really don't care for bright red too. Subdued but still gets your attention and looks amazing.

Thanks. I'll look for some trucks in that color. My wife really wants me to paint it ferarri red...she was looking on google tonight trying to help me find a nice color and that's her first choice

The 307 didn't bother me...because I drove the truck and knew it was a good engine and cruised fine at 65-70 and got good gas mileage....

...but I can see from the responses here and other things I've read online that most/all prefer a nice 350 over a 307 any day... I do too but would have left the 307 in it if I could afford to keep it as a driver right now...

I think that was one thing hurting my potential sales....going to re-do my advertisement with the 350 and the 68 front end and see if I get any better response....

I hear ya at times it is all about the money, I know what you meen about the leg room I'm 6' and mine feels kind of tight and haven't driven it yet

Got Wd-40 sprayed in the cylinders a couple days ago...will try to rotate it tomorrow night with BMERDOC supervising/helping to make sure I don't mess things up Going to gather together all my engine stuff tomorrow and will take pics...

Also started removing more stuff off the firewall so that can be painted nicely and going to try to route the wiring more cleanly...

hoping to get my pressure washer back soon so I can clean up the front frame and get it painted up with the engine out...

Thanks! BMERDOC came by tonight and looked over the engine and I rotated it a full 360 with no binding...was easier than I thought it'd be and everything still is oily inside so it looks good to go....going to button it up and get it sealed up and painted.

Now that the swap meet is over going to get working on this more. Going to soak down the front end tonight so I can pressure wash tomorrow to prepare for paint.

Looks like next weekend will be when I take it to the body shop for final body work and paint....
