I'm not sure which I'm diggin more - the V8 swap or Lumberton Funeral Home's sale on a traditional service complete w/20 gauge non-gasketed steel casket.

Re: Project Platinum C10
Short video of the engine running. Still need to add exhaust so this is straight headers with about a foot of pipe and no mufflers. Planning turn downs by the axles.

Re: Project Platinum C10
Hey guys, it's been awhile since I last posted here. The 350 I swapped over a while back decided to tank out so now I've decided to go with a 5.3L LS swap. I was able to find a wrecked 2007 Silverado and was able to get the engine, transmission, harness, computer, etc.. for my swap. I won't be doing the work myself so I'm getting a buddy of mine to do it for me. He does great work though so I'm excited to see the end product.
The plan: Shave the firewall, paint the firewall, paint the frame rails, install the LS engine, install vintage air and fix the wobbly steering column. I'll update some pics as it goes along.

Re: Project Platinum C10
Donor vehicle and parts, I've decided to keep the engine stock except the addition of headers. I have a special touch that I plan to add using that valve cover though so stay tuned.

Re: Project Platinum C10
The front end has been removed and the engine is out. The frame rails are being cleaned and getting ready for paint. Tejas Steelworks engine mounts are here as well.

Re: Project Platinum C10
That's correct Ken, he will be doing all the work on it for me (Firewall, frame, vintage air and LS swap). Here's a couple of pics for an update. Shaving the firewall and welded in the studs for the vintage air so you won't see the bolt heads on the firewall!!

Thanks man. Here is an update I received over the weekend. The firewall should be getting paint and clear in the next couple of days. Harvey's Hack Shack out of Dayton TX, is doing a great job!

Re: Project Platinum C10
Engine is set in the truck and the trans cross member will begin fabrication today. Modern Vintage harness is in the process of building me a plug and play harness that should be completed in a week or two. The driveshaft will be measured and built soon. Updates to come!!

Thanks Ken, Al has been doing an amazing job on the truck. I'm excited and ready to take it out cruising!!
I hear you are thinking of doing a few minor touches to your black truck. What's the plans on it?

Re: Project Platinum C10
The front clip is back on and I am loving the way it's looking. Waiting on the 90-91 Suburban gauge cluster and the harness to come in plus the driveshaft still needs to be made. The inner fenders should be getting a new coat of paint soon and button up a few things and I'll be ready to ride.
