Re: My new project 86 Silverado

got the Erson springs, for my cam, and some new PC valve stem seals... taking them to the head shop today(wish i lived in Washington, i'd visit 2 head shops LOL), will try and get some pics of them dis-assembled

probably not going to Florida to get my long block, builder is going to give me a price for shipping thru Fastenal.

would probably spend as much in gas to drive there, we'll see how much shipping is LOL

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Fastenal is usually pretty reasonable.
I sent a hood once, went well.

So many "green cross" shops in Washington now its annoying.

yeah, too bad NC doesn't have green cross shops, lot's of my buddies with PTSD, TBI's etc. it's all that works, these are not young punk kids, but 40, 50, 60 year old guys that never used it all their life, now they are off their opiates, and psychotropic drug cocktails
they medicate for anxiety/depression, chronic fatigue, IBS and so many other conditions.

doesn't work for everyone, but when it does, it's like a miracle

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

update on my heads...

the stock Oldsmobile G heads i got, i had inspected...

they were pressure tested/checked for cracks

came with all new valves/retainers etc.
installed the correct springs for my cam, installed height was 1.900
they have new intake guides
they have new exhaust seats
the guide bosses were cut down for PC seals
came with a good valve job/lapping etc.
all the bolt holes are good

the CC's of the chambers were pretty close to each other, average was 78
all they needed was a 5 thousandths cleanup off the surface

i'll get my engine in a week or so, then i can start assembly of the engine, still have some odds and ends to get for it...

soon Ralph, very soon...
