Re: Dutch 1955 build
just test fitted the door panels on one side
to see how it will look like, so far... i dont like the red on the upper panel i think it would look better in black |

Re: Dutch 1955 build
I agree, black on top with the red piping. I would also consider a carpet scuff pad on the bottom, you can already see were someone has kicked the leather. My drivers door had the paint worn off in that area from 300K miles of fett dragging getting in or kicking the door open with my arms full.

Re: Dutch 1955 build
I was looking for some inspiration to get moving on my project and remembered this build which is one of my favorites. But it looks like most of the pic's are gone. Still managed to get my fix with the pics that are still there. I really like how clean this truck is....very nice.

Re: Dutch 1955 build
Yes, one of my favorites as well. This is the exact style I want for my build.

Re: Dutch 1955 build
since we live in the Netherlands we could not change to much to the truck (upgrade's like IFS) before we have had inspection and registration done
(Import cars/truck need to be road worthy to get them titled overhere) the original plan was to put in a 350 with and 700r4 tranny with original suspension, and get it inspected and titled. and then do an IFS installation. here some pic's of the finnished truck ready for registration |

Re: Dutch 1955 build
we passed the inspection and have the Title in hand
while building the truck my buddy began to change his mind on the engine he drove the 55 with the BB a few time's and now want's it too for his 59 panel the truck came with a bare 454 big block (condition unknown) so we began to pull the front clip off of the truck and pulled the sbc and removed the suspension and welded the boxplates and heidts crossbar in place |

Re: Dutch 1955 build
mocked up the BB 454 engine and shoehorned it in we figured we wanted the engine further back, so we modified the firewall a bit to make room for the valve covers.
